Vancouver Stanely Cup Riots Part 2 12 years later

Congratulations Vancouver, we are now the centre of worldwide media attention. Not for the beautiful scenery, the wildlife, the great weather we've been having or even for how our economy is still managing to do well alongside what is now a global financial crisis. Yes, the real estate market is still nuts but houses are still being built and people are still working. All that aside, none of those are why Vancouver, BC Canada is at the top of Internet searches all over the world. So much are we in demand, there is a Facebook group looking for pictures of the on-goings in Vancouver last night. So why all this hype? Well, in case you didn't know.

Aside from being one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vancouver is also home to some of the dumbest a$5h0les in the world. You know, those professional protestors. Losers and hooligans with nothing better to do than to search for things to protest about and incite violence. Yes, I am talking about the Stanley Cup Riots. Now don't get confused, I know Stanley Cup Riots happened back in 1994 after a Canucks win. There have also been riots and vandalism throughout the Vancouver area as a result of many things including the 2010 Olympics, housing issues, and various other topics which apparently justify violence in the minds of the pea brained unemployed 5h!t for brains looser professional protestor crowds.

So what was the reason for the latest Riot in Vancouver? Why is the world media plastered with pictures of burning cards and broken windows in Downtown Vancouver? Well, you see, there is this thing called the Stanley Cup. Apparently, not winning the Stanley cup, or in the case of 1994, almost winning the Stanley Cup is cause for violence. Oh my god, the tragedy in the world when the Vancouver Canucks loose a game. This is awful, lets flip over some cars and set them on fire.

Come on people, get a fvck!ng clue. IT IS A GAME. There are plenty of other things happening in the world. People are starving, governments are suppressing their citizens. The biggest concern in Vancouver right now, well aside from housing prices, is the length of the Starbucks line-up or maybe traffic. Not that many of these loosers and bums who rioted are concerned about housing prices or traffic.

Honestly, I really don't know what to say about the Stanley Cup Riots in Vancouver or all those pictures of burning cars and Broken Windows plastering the world wide media. I don't understand the mentality of those losers involved in the 2011 Stanley Cup Riots of Vancouver. This does not mean I am at all surprised there was a Riot after Vancouver lost the Stanley Cup to Boston last night. After all, this is Vancouver, the protest and idiot capital of the world. Oh ya, I'm a proud Canadian today. Fvck!ing A$$h0les!!!

The "C" Word - Is Christmas Lost

There seems to have been a recent resurgence, of sorts, in this whole Christmas vs winter holiday debate. Ya know the one where society all of a sudden lost their balls (Christmas balls of course.)

The politically correct wearers of broom handles (Up their asses) managed to convince the rest of us that wishing someone who was Jewish, Sikh, Hindu, Jehovah Witness African etc was both racially and culturally insensitive. So, being the kind fence sitting Canadians we are, we happily obliged and put our cultural beliefs on the back burner.

Now schools no longer have Christmas decorations. If they do put up a tree, it is now called a "Winter Holiday Tree", or something equally as gay. The month of December in most Calendars now has mention of every religious holiday on the planet... Except Christmas. Businesses send out "Seasons Greetings cards" Because certain sales trainers and business advisers have told us mentioning Christmas to someone who did not celebrate it was, once again, culturally insensitive. Even I was caught in that trap, often pondering the religion of a customer and Googling their last name to see what culture it "belonged to", prior to filling out what was to be a "Christmas Card."

So what about "Our" Culture? Are we missing something here?

A recent newspaper comment kinda brought it home for me. The front page read "HOW DARE YOU DISCRIMINATE AGAINST CHRISTMAS!" Letter to Editor: Student fed up with school's unwillingness to use the "C" word".

Has it really gotten that bad? Has the word "Christmas" moved on par with words like "Shit Piss Fuck Cunt (or Kunt) Cocksucker Motherfucker and Tits?" If George Carlin were alive today, would he now have to add Christmas to his original and always growing list of "Seven words you cannot say on television"?

The letter was a very well written commentary by a North Delta grade 11 student named Chelsea Phelps. In her letter, Chelsea talks about a number of religious based cultural celebrations which have become accepted and celebrated in North American culture. Among these, Eid (a Muslim tradition) and Diwali (a Sikh and Hindu tradition.) Very wisely, Chelsea did not attack those holidays, she simply asked

"Why are we allowed to have a Christmas Tree in the Foyer of our school but the board can't post a simple message of 'Merry Christmas?'"

Personally, I believe we lost something in our search for cultural sensitivity, religious tolerance, equality, diversity or whatever shit you want to call it. Personally, I call it "Political Correctness gone awry"

At the end of her letter to the Editor, Chelsea Phelps of North Delta wrote

"I am not trying to start a war or create a struggle. I would appreciate it if we did not discriminate against anyone's traditions or beliefs, including mine."

Very well put, Chelsea, you have a great future ahead of you.

Buzz Words... MMMMM Yummy

It seems the new marketing buzzword of the decade is "Pro-Activ" or various forms of it such as "Pro Activ" etc. So what does Pro Activ mean? Well, in a nutshell, without the "e" at the end, absolutely nothing.
It first started with Yogurt companies vying for the weight loss market by taking the Active part of the central part of all yogurt "Active Bacteria" and combining it with the other part "Probiotics" and they created their own word "Pro Activ" Of course, this bears a striking resemblance to the word Proactive which implies taking control. So the thought process must be, by taking ProActiv, you are taking a Proactive approach to your health. Brilliant.
Of course there are many manufacturers of Yogurt and everyone started using the term Probiotic to describe their yogurt. Simply look at the yogurt labels next time you are at the grocery store and you will see what I mean. All these names and numbers leave one wondering what is the best Probiotic. Well, there is no simple answer to what the best probiotic yogurt or the best probiotic supplement is. Fact of the matter, all yogurts consist of Proactive bacterial cultures and one would assume each one acts differently. The most known of these active bacterial cultures is acidophilus bifidium.
Personally, I have gone the route of buying several versions of unflavored probiotic yogurt and created my own "super probiotic yogurt" Of course, this would not work on a commercial level because some of these probiotic cultures are protected by patents and would potentially result in a lawsuit. Kinda funny, actually.
Probiotics have also hit the suplement market. There are several versions of vitamins or supliments on the market with various active bacteria in them. The most recent to hit the search engines is Align Probiotics. This has people searching for side effects of Align Probiotics Align Side Effects Probiotic Side Effects, Align Probiotics reviews and of course, the Best Probiotics. Apparently, there is some sort of Align Probiotic coupon you can print out there.
Not to be outdone, the next level of marketers decided to take Proactiv to a whole new level, the Skin. There is now a Pro-Activ Acne Creme out there. A quick search shows they seem to have Justin Bieber on their side... So it must be good :P
So does the Pro-activ designation mean you are putting probiotic yogurt on your face to reduce acne? Maybe this will be the next trend, remember the beer Shampoo fad. Of course it is on the Internet, so it must be true. Truth be known, the best cure for acne is to wash your face with a warm clean soapy facecloth 2 to 3 times a day. Ya know, after you eat. Typically speaking, grease will start to flow out of our pours after you eat so washing your face is the best cure for that. Eating all the Probiotic yogurt, dousing it down with Proactiv margarine and plastering your face with cream will not do as good a job as just washing.
Oh ya, the margarine companies have jumped onto the Proactiv bandwagon. There is now a Proactiv Becel margarine on the market which touts the use of Plant Sterols (Not Probiotic bacteria) to help reduce cholesterol levels. In addition to blocking the absorption of Cholesterol there is also an added risk of blocking the absorption of certain vitamins. This brings to mind a fad of the past, Olestra, which unlike Plant Sterols, is an artificial fat which is not absorbed by the body. Yet it still has the wonderful yummy melt in your mouth taste of good old Natural Fat. Now the next part almost made me piss myself laughing when I first read the warning label on a bag of Olestra Chips a friend "smuggled" across the Canadian Border. In addition to blocking the absorption of certain vitamins, this synthetic nummy Olestra caused anal leakage. Ya, you heard me right, they actually mentioned "Anal Leakage" on a bag of chips. Now doesn't that just make ya wanna run.... to the bathroom that is.
Anyways, back to the folks at Becel ant their brand new Plant Sterol Pro-Activ Margarine. Looking at the label, there appears to be no Probiotics, nor do I see any claimed that proactively rubbing Pro-Activ Plant Sterol margarine on your face will help prevent Justin Bieber from getting acne. So that brings up the question, What are Plant Sterols? Well, unlike Olestra, Plant Sterols occur naturally in foods such as nuts fruits and vegetables the kind added to food is usually derived from vegetable oil. The claim is that Plant Sterols reduce the absorption of Cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of heart attacks.
As for the risks of Plant Sterol, well there is the blockage of certain vitamins and People with sitosterolaemia are discouraged from using it as they are unable to metabolize plant sterols. There is, however, no mention of this on the label. I only see some instruction to consume at least 5 teaspoons of Plant Sterol containing Becel Margerine a day. Wow, that 227 Gram mini tub which cost me about 5 bucks will go quickly. I wonder if I can add chocolate syrup to it to make it taste better.

Octomom Nadia Suleman from Nutcase to Pornstar to Welfare bum

And to think, I figured the whole Octomom thing would settle down once Nadia Suleman popped her latest fetal chemical creations out of her hootchy. Well, apparently not. It seems Nadia Suleman AKA the Octomom, so named after the number of children she decided to have, seems to be have a little bit of a Paris Hilton type syndrome. You know, attention whore...

Aside from the obvious mental issues involved in a person deciding to have that many children, there have also been several recent rumours surfacing regarding the floppy 'gina. Of course, as with any celebrity, there has to be some sort of sex scandal or sex tape involved. Since we already know the Octomom (Nadia Suleman) has a thing for Children, the whole Tiffany Shepherdesque high school teacher sex thing would probably be a little tasteless, but that has not been written out of the porno script apparently up for the MILF Octomom. I guess the Octamom has to raise some money to feed all those hungry mouths somehow, after all, it is only a few years until her kids highschool buddies start questioning why they are all still sucking on Mommy Nadia Suleman's saggy boobs. Sure they are all perky now, but imagine what will happen after all those kids get hold of them for a couple of years. Shit, her boobs can be back home in Mexico for Christmas.

So if that wasn't enough to satisfy the white-trash dirt seekers in Mid-America, it seems the recent financial hardships and potential massive welfare cheques heading the way of Octomom Nadia Suleman are getting tempers flared... and rightfully so. Even me, way up here in the Igloo's of Canada :P is mighty miffed Eh!, even though it's not coming out of my taxes. It sure does make for some interesting visitors though.

UK Crackdown on P2P File Sharing

OK, so we are all too familiar with the Pirates of the Indian Ocean and their increasing attacks on container ships and now personal yachts. The British government, in particular Business Secretary Peter Mandelson, is seeking to shut down Internet Piracy in the form of illegal downloads.

Peter Mandelson recently announced his plan to crack down on people who persistently download illegal content, stating they will be cut off from the net if they continue downloading content.

This recent addition to government policy followed months of speculation on the topic of a crack down on peer-to-peer downloading in the UK. The new regulation means persistent peer-to-peer P2P users will be sent two warning letters before facing disconnection from their ISP.

This new regulation is being challenged by ISP providers in the UK on the grounds that it is impractical. A reprasentative from ISP TalkTalk, an ISP firm in the UK said "What is being proposed is wrong in principle and won't work in practice," They further went on to say the UK Anti-piracy law is "ill-conceived" and they are prepared to challenge the Peer-to-peer downloading crackdown against online filesharing in the courts stating "In the event we are instructed to impose extra judicial technical measures we will challenge the instruction in the courts."

Peter Mendelson, however, said actual disconnections are going to be a "Last Resort. In his announcement Peter Mendelson said "I have no expectation of mass suspensions. People will receive two notifications and if it reaches the point they will have the opportunity to appeal,"
UK ISP's have argued it is not their job to police the Internet. Further going on to state they should not be responsible for the cost involved in policing the downloading practices of their customers. In response, Peter Mandelson said the costs of enforcing his anti-piracy crackdown on Peer-to-peer P2P file sharing would be "shared between ISPs and content providers".

The Internet Service Providers' Association feels the copywrite holders should cover all costs involved in enforcing the proposed UK Anti-piracy crackdown on P2P file sharing, this would also include reimbursement of ISPs for lost revenue and expenses.

The ISPA further went on to state "The unintended consequence of Lord Mandelson's plan will be to encourage more wi-fi and PC hi-jacking and expose more innocent people to being penalised."

Peter Mandelson further went on to say this proposed UK Anti-piracy crackdown on P2P file sharing would also result in a more relaxed copyright regime. Although the details of his plan would need to be hammered out at European level, it would take account of the use of copyright material "at home and between friends", he said. For example, someone who has bought a CD would be able to copy it to their iPod or share it with family members without acting unlawfully.

In a post on their blog, The Pirate Bay, an online P2P Filesharing source and frequent defender of Filesharing rights said:

We have, ourselves, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once more able to defend our Internets, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.

In France the government has just approved a so-called three strikes policy.

Under the French Anti-piracy crackdown on P2P file sharing, those identified as illegally downloading content would initially be sent warning letters and, if they failed to comply, could be removed from the network for up to a year.

The almost mainstreaming of Sun Myung Moon and his Unification Church / Moonies really hits home with me. Back in the 80's my brother was hitchhiking through California (I guess it seemed like the adventurous thing to do) and he was taken captive by the Unification Church / Moonies. It wasn't like he was grabbed off the street hoodwinked and stuffed into a van. No, he was taken in as a guest with what seemed like very moral and hospitable reasons.

The true mission of the Unification Church / Moonies was quickly revealed as the friendly nature of his hosts soon turned to Brainwashing and cohersion attempts. Since the Unification Church / Moonies relied on converting those with a bad family life, my Brother was one step up. He wanted to come back home. This is not go over well with the Unification Church / Moonies who went as far as to tell my brother they knew his family did not want him back.

Luckily for everyone my Brother managed to escape the clutches of Sun Myung Moon and his Unification Church / Moonies. To this day, my Brother does not really like to talk about his experiences with the Moonies or their Politically correct name "The Unification Church". I encourage those who have family members who have been captured by the Unification Church / Moonies to speak up. Man Set on Fire in Vancouver

Vancouver police are investigating after a man was lit on fire while taking a rest in Vancouver on Saturday night while sleeping outside on a couch in the city's east side.

The burning of the man in Vancouver happened around 11:40 p.m. PT near Commercial Drive and E. Fifth Avenue, police said. Vancouver Police said it appears the 26-year-old man, from New Westminster, B.C., had been out drinking when he saw a couch on the sidewalk and decided to go to sleep. Witnesses in the area reported seeing three men standing over the sleeping man and spraying some type of fluid, believed to be lighter fluid or a similar accelerant, on the victim before lighting him on fire, Insp.

Eric Grummish said "The victim woke up from his sleep and ran off. He tore off the shirt he was wearing, which was burning, and ended up suffering some relatively minor burns." Several witnesses to the man lit on fire in Vancouver intervened and tried to help the victim while the perpetrators fled.

The slighly burned New Westminster man was taken to hospital, where he was treated for minor burns on the right side of his chest and right wrist. Vancouver Police said late Sunday they were still working to determine a motive for lighting a man on fire on Commercial Drive. Contrary to media reports, police said in a written statement "there is no information to suggest the motive for the assault had any hate bias related to it or that it was motivated by ethnicity, gender or any other factor."

People in the area say they were shocked and appalled by what happened. John Niddrie, who works at a cafe close to where the crime happened, spent much of the day Sunday putting up posters in the coffee shop and on the street, calling for witnesses to come forward. Niddrie said he was "disgusted" when he heard what happened. "We just wanted to show support to the community. This is a heinous thing that has happened and we are trying to support the police to figure out what's going on here and get to the bottom of this and make sure everyone is OK," he said. "It's not something that should be happening in our community, I think, not around here."

One of the culprits is described as a white man between 25 and 40, about six feet tall with a bald or shaved head. He was dressed in black and had tattoos on his arms. The other two suspects are described as white men wearing black clothing.

Perhaps the reason VANOC is having trouble finding people to fill the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES JOB OPENINGS is because they are doing a crap job of posting the openings. Looking at the list of VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES JOB OPENINGS online, it seems VANOC has a long way to go in defining the critical VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES JOB OPENINGS, let alone filling them and training potential VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES Employee's. To add to this fiasco, I was just talking to a customer who has a sister that works for the PNE. I know I am starting to sound like a big downer on the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES but I was not always like this. To be quite honest, I was a staunch supporter of the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES, I saw the whole VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES coming to Vancouver as a positive thing. I was excited about the frenzy and looking forward to the boom it would be bringing.

As for the boom, well all the contracts seemed to go to friends of VANOC as the whole contract posting procedure was a farce. As for frenzy, it seems to only frenzy will be caused by the chaos of disorganization. VANOC promised a boom for local businesses, how can this be when businesses located in the red zones do not even know if they will be allowed to show up for work before, during and shortly after the VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES. So what, is everyone who owns a business in the "Red Zone" supposed to shut down for a month and just eat the loss in revenue? Where is this "Boom" you promised us Mr. Furlong?

So again, am I surprised by this "new" report of potential VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES disorganization?? NOPE!!!

Killer Earthquake in Samoa... but Don't worry it won't effect your TV viewing

In trailer parks across America, "Reality" TV fans sit with baited breath waiting to see if their weekly dose of Survivor Samoa will be effected by the 2009 Samoa Earthquake and Tsunami
Now this one just made me cringe. So there is this 8.3 Magnitude Earthquake off the coast of Samoa today which in turn created a Tsunami which killed at least 14 people (Last time I looked.) So what is the American Public interested in? Not how the human spirit and human camaraderie is helping out with the victims of the Samoa Earthquake of 2009 but whether or not the shooting schedule for Survivor Samoa will be adversely effected by today's tragic events.

God help the poor American TV viewers who wouldn't know where Samoa was if it wasn't for good old Rand McNally (If the could even find their way past the Reality TV show DVD's and Tabloid rack.) What am I saying, today's public doesn't learn from books anymore, it is all Reality TV and Oprah. Shit, even Oprah, the almighty "I would never stoop to the Shock tactics of Geraldo" is bringing in guests that shock. I guess I am wondering off topic here. Judging from the Search trends you want to know about Survivor Samoa and whether or not Mark Burnett has been swallowed by a hungry sperm whale that was beached as a result of the Samoa Tsunami thus leaving the trash of America to rely on Oprah Windbag for their entertainment needs. Well, all is fine in the Trailer Park, the Earthquake in Samoa did not effect the shooting schedule for Season 20 of Survivor Samoa which will apparently be shot in Samoa, just like season 19. In addition, a CBS rep confirms that “Survivor” crew members still on the island are all “doing fine” and weren’t harmed in the wake of the quake.

It helped that the temblor struck American Samoa, while the CBS show films in the nearby nation of Samoa.

So this dork in Newark N.J. allegedly stashed his stash of Cocaine in his 4 year old sons' jacket saying it was "Candy" (apparently because Shaheed Write was worried the cops would find it.)

Apparently this four year old was quite the sharing type as he later decided to share his Candy bounty with some of his friends at daycare. An observant teacher was quick to jump in when she noticed a girl with a baggie of white powder in her mouth. Upon closer examination, the teacher realised this so called "candy" was in fact cocaine.

For anyone interested, the piece of work father in this case is Shaheed Write. Reporters have been trying to contact him, however, he is not listed in the phone book. I haven't tried yet, but perhaps a quick Google search for SHAHEED WRITE of EAST ORANGE NEW JERSEY will bring up some results.

The children who had taken the "Candy" were taken to the Hospital and they are all going to be ok.

Newark police say 25-year-old Shaheed Wright of East Orange put several baggies of cocaine inside his son's jacket after police nearly caught him with it. The boy shared the drugs with three other 4-year-olds at his day care centre Friday.

A teacher spotted a girl with a baggie in her mouth and called authorities after seeing the white powdery substance.

The children were taken to a hospital, but none were injured. Police found more baggies of cocaine after searching the boy's pockets.

Wright was charged with four counts of child endangerment and drug offences. He is not listed in the phone book, and police do not know if he has retained a lawyer.

Nothing pisses me off more than people who, for lack of any balls, decide to blame everyone in the world for their short-falls except themselves. Never taking responsibility for their actions or attempting to fix the situation they are in, these individuals go on to justify their sadistic actions by blaming those around them and their upbringing.

This type of behavior is evident in the online blog / diary postings of the LA Fitness shooter, George Sodini. In his website postings on georgesodini.com, the madman responsible for the deaths of several innocent women at a Bridgeville PA LA Fitness center goes through his discontent with is life.

Reading through the blog of George Sodini, one must shake their head and wonder how this could have been missed. Yes, George Sodini looks like an average white male who has problems getting layed.

In his blog diary, which started in December of 2008, George Sodini outlines his discontent with life the universe and everything. Particularly his inability to attract women and his "constant rejection"

I actually look good. I dress good, am clean-shaven, bathe, touch of cologne - yet 30 million women rejected me - over an 18 or 25-year period. That is how I see it. Thirty million is my rough guesstimate of how many desirable single women there are. A man needs a woman for confidence. He gets a boost on the job, career, with other men, and everywhere else when he knows inside he has someone to spend the night with and who is also a friend. In his blog/diary George Sodini later went on to lament about his mother, brother, sister and other family members. He referred to his mother as a controlling, his brother as a bully and his sister a victim who exercises too much control over her children.

According to George Sodini's blog / diary postings, the original LA Fitness shooting was to take place at 8:15 on January 6th, 2009, except he changed his mind at the last minute. Perhaps the one indication of any sanity in his mind. Unfortunately for his victims, George Sodini continued to fantasize about his plan.

Throughout his blog / diary, George Sodini goes through rants about life the universe and everything, blaming everyone for his misfortunes and not taking and responsibility for his shortfalls. In a June blog entry, George Sodini went on to say

I was reading several posts on different forums and it seems many teenage girls have sex frequently. One 16 year old does it usually three times a day with her boyfriend. Even after a promotion and raise in July of 2009, George Sodini was still not happy with his life.

Everything still sucks. But I got a promotion and a raise, even in this shitty Obama ecomomy. No more grunt programming. Go figure! New boss is great. He tactfully says when you did something wrong or complements on good things. Never confused with him. But that is NOT what I want in life.

In his final blog / diary entry on August 3, 2009, George Sodini took the day off work to "practice". Indicating is displeasure over his one moment of sanity in January, George Sodini said he needed to remain focused and that the "positive and upbeat" nature of his neighbour was a distraction.

I took off today, Monday, and tomorrow to practice my routine and make sure it is well polished. I need to work out every detail, there is only one shot. Also I need to be completely immersed into something before I can be successful. I haven't had a drink since Friday at about 2:30. Total effort needed. Tomorrow is the big day.

Unfortunately I talked to my neighbor today, who is very positive and upbeat. I need to remain focused and absorbed COMPLETELY. Last time I tried this, in January, I chickened out. Lets see how this new approach works.

Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for EVERY sin, so how can I or you be judged BY GOD for a sin when the penalty was ALREADY paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.

I will try not to add anymore entries because this computer clicking distracts me.

The rest of this story continued with the mourning of the families of the lost souls. Innocent people caught in the psychosis of a madman with a lack of concern for anyone but himself. George Sodini may blame all those in his life for his actions, as evident in his online ramblings, however he only has himself to blame for his life and the direction it took.

In his blog /diary, George Sodini requested his blog be republished in its' entirety. In sympathy for those effected and involved, I refuse to honor the last wished of a madman. In my opinion, George Sodini was a coward. Unable to stand up on his own two feet and be thankful for the positive things in his life, George Sodini took the cowards route and killed several innocent women. In his blog posting, George Sodini wanted to be remembered for his grief. Those who deserve rememberance on this awful day are the victims of this heinous crime. The family members of these innocent women will feel a void in their lives from this day forward. My heart goes out to the family members and friends of the innocent victims of the August 4th, 2009 LA Fitness Center shooting Massacre in Bridgeville PA. To George Sodini, may you burn in hell.

ALFRED SANTIAGO - DALLAS FRITZL

My wife brought this article to my attention and it just made me ill. In a case similar to that of Austrian a$$hole Josef Fritzl, ALFRED SANTIAGO kept the three children of his girlfriend locked in the bathroom of an extended stay hotel, Budget Suites of America, for a year while he beat the boys and sexually abused the girl.

According to authorities, ALFRED SANTIAGO did not care what happened to the children because he felt, as they were not his he was not responsible for them. I am still trying to wrap my head around how he felt this "logic" justified the imprisoning, rape and abuse of the three children he kept locked in the bathroom of a Budget Suites of America extended stay hotel room.

Here is the whole story, I feel sick.

Three children were kept in a hotel bathroom for about a year and were "horribly emaciated" when police found them earlier this month, authorities said. One claimed to have been repeatedly sexually assaulted.

The children's mother, 30-year-old Abneris Santiago, is charged with injury to a child. Her 37-year-old live-in boyfriend, Alfred Santiago, is charged with aggravated sexual assault and continuous sexual abuse.

The extended stay hotel where the Santiagos lived sits alongside one of Dallas' busiest freeways. It has daily and weekly rates and offers maid service for an extra cost, though it wasn't clear if hotel employees had entered the unit where the children were found.

An attorney for the hotel chain said there were no complaints from other guests and employees about the unit.

"When law enforcement and management arrived ... the unit was very, very clean," said Steven Stefani, senior counsel for a Budget Suites of America. "What became apparent is these people worked very hard in concealing these children in the back bathroom."

The Santiagos remained jailed Wednesday. Abneris Santiago was being held on $50,000 bail, while Alfred Santiago was being held on $125,000 bail. Her initial court appearance is not expected until Aug. 3, said her attorney, James Jamison.

His attorney, Richard Carrizales, declined to comment.

According to an arrest affidavit, Abneris Santiago called police on July 2 and asked for help getting her children and belongings from the hotel. Officers found a healthy 1-year-old girl - the child of the Santiagos, Jamison said - in a crib.

Inside the bathroom, they found an 11-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy - Abneris Santiago's children from other relationships, Jamison said. It was apparent the children suffered from "serious physical, emotional and mental neglect," according to the affidavit.

The 10-year-old was covered in bruises and all three were "horribly emaciated, underweight and malnourished," the affidavit said.

The 11-year-old told authorities that their mother left them with her boyfriend while she worked. She said they were allowed to leave the bathroom only when he took a shower and that they were regularly beaten and rarely fed.

The girl told police she had been sexually abused by her mother's boyfriend for at least three years. She described numerous rapes and said she was forced to perform oral sex on him. She also said the boyfriend threatened to kill her if she told her mother about the assaults.

The children were initially hospitalized for 10 days. The 10-year-old was hospitalized again recently, said Child Protective Services spokeswoman Marissa Gonzales. All four children are now in temporary foster care.

Abneris Santiago told police that Alfred Santiago did not care for her children because, according to him, "they were not his responsibility," the affidavit said.

"She just had a history of making poor judgments about her male companions," Jamison said. "I think ultimately the evidence will show that this man was controlling her and controlling the children."

Abneris Santiago's brother, Abner Santiago, came to Dallas from Ohio to check on the family after their mother spoke with her daughter on the phone, The Dallas Morning News reported. Abner Santiago said family members had been concerned about his sister for several years since she met Alfred Santiago and moved from Florida, where her mother had been "basically raising her kids for her."

He was with his sister and police when they went to the hotel. The children were so emaciated that they threw up when child protective workers first tried to feed them. The children's lips were dry, swollen and cracked, their ribs were protruding, and their cheeks and eyes were sunken into dark hollows.

"My jaw just hit the floor," Abner Santiago told the newspaper. "I just broke down."

Jamison told the AP his client was afraid to tell authorities about the abuse.

"I think it did take a lot of courage on her behalf to notify the police about this situation and bring the police to her residence to rescue the children," he said.

It's hard to find a hero in a sick story about the torture and starvation of children.

It's crazy to look at three kids held prisoner for months in the dirty bathroom of a cheap motel room and see any evidence of good fortune in their young lives.

Yet in one respect, these children – bruised, filthy and traumatized as they were – had a little piece of luck.

There was somebody out there who cared enough about them to ask questions and, dissatisfied with the evasive answers, drive 1,200 miles to find out what the hell was going on.

The children – an 11-year-old girl and her two brothers, 6 and 10 – were rescued early this month when their uncle, Abner Santiago, made a marathon drive from Cleveland to Dallas to check up on them.

What he found made him sick.

Frail and emaciated as famine victims, the kids had been starved and beaten, police say, by their mother's boyfriend, Alfred Santiago (who shares the same last name as his girlfriend's family, but is not related). The boyfriend, police say, had been raping the little girl regularly.

The children's mother, who worked six days a week while her boyfriend "cared for" the kids, had been unwilling or unable to stop him.

"I thought something was wrong, but I never imagined anything close to this," said Abner Santiago, who has returned to his family and job in Ohio while police and child-welfare workers sort out the case against his sister and her boyfriend. "God, I just wish I'd gone sooner."

Abner, 35, does not think he did anything especially heroic. His mother, who lives in Florida, was worried about her grandchildren. During infrequent phone calls, the children's mother, Abneris Santiago, was giving her mother robotic, perfunctory responses. She wouldn't return Abner's calls.

"We needed to know what was going on," he said.

Yet there are cases here in this city, too many of them, in which families or neighbors suspect there might be something wrong, but they don't interfere.

They don't want to cause a family rift or involve the cops or butt in where they're clearly not wanted. They don't want child-welfare authorities "to take the kids away" from their son or daughter or siblings.

So they do nothing.

They could have protested, "How were we supposed to know what was going on?"

Other people have done so. A woman in South Dallas heard a baby screaming, night after night, on the other side of her apartment wall, but she didn't want to make trouble with her neighbors by calling the cops. The baby finally quit screaming when her parents beat her to death.

A 13-year-old Tarrant County boy named Stephen Hill died in 1991 after being chained up and starved to death by his parents.

Neighbors had seen him scavenging for food in garbage cans, but they didn't want to mess with his odd, reclusive parents.

Family members in another state didn't bother calling anymore; the grownups never returned their calls.

"Stephen simply dropped out and disappeared, and no one seemed to notice or care enough to find out what had happened to him," this newspaper said in a 1992 editorial.

There have been other cases, miserably similar, where children quite simply vanished.

As I said, Abner Santiago, who has three children of his own, is a reluctant hero. When he saw the condition of his sister's children, he was too shaken to speak. Incredibly, it was his 11-year-old niece who tried to comfort him.

"She's been like a mother to the other kids," he said. "After everything she's been through, she was telling me, 'It'll be all right.' "

There was a long pause on the phone. He was crying.

"Kids can't fend for themselves. That's the duty of a parent, to make sure they get the love and protection they need," he said.

"My sister – " he broke off and started again.

"She's my sister. She's blood. But she did not do her duty as a mother."

Thank God, then, that the extended family cared enough to do theirs.

So let's say the shake and bake Meth production was successful and the stolen car is left in an alley and the meth head is all wacked out on his/her concoction. What happens to the Shake and Bake Meth bottle? This is the biggest risk to the general public. Authorities are warning children and parents alike to keep an eye out for pop bottles containing a brown crystalline residue. Bottles used for the production of Shake and Bake meth are not only very toxic but high volatile and subject to explosion. If you or someone you know see's a suspicious looking bottle, please contact your local hazmat and police. Most importantly, DO NOT TOUCH THIS SHAKE AND BAKE METH BOTTLE.
As for the Meth heads who managed to stumble upon this blog as a result of searching for HOW TO MAKE SHAKE AND BAKE METH. Do us all a favour and go jump off a fvcking bridge. Of course I briefly heard about it on the radio on my way home. I did a quick search and the media still seemed to be holding onto the thought that Michael Jackson may not be dead. So sad, to bad he'll be pushing daisy's soon.

The thing is, people die everyday, so why does everyone make such a fuss when the Prince of Pedophiles kicks one over the hill? CANADIAN GOVERNMENT APPROVES SEAL FUR UNIFORMS FOR OLYMPIC ATHLETES

I know Canadians are typically fence sitters who tend to go along with the trend as long as there is beer involved but going along with this proposed move of Parliament would be just stupid.

The Bloc Quebecois brought forth a motion on Wednesday calling on the CANADIAN government to include SEAL PELTS INTO THE OLYMPIC ATHLETES UNIFORMS... Say fvcking what??? I thought the SEAL HUNT was banned.

I remember seeing images of the annual CANADIAN SEAL SLAUGHTER on TV. Hunters would charge around the ice on snowmobiles with clubs and beat the living shit out of these poor helpless baby seals. I know there is a whole overpopulation issue and a negative effect on the fishing industry, the thing is, the fish would be OK if the Fishermen would be over fishing. Furthermore, isn't there a more humane way to kill these poor animals. I'm sure a gun would be more effective and definitely alot quicker and potentially less painful for the seals.

You know, I started out being a supporter of the 2010 Olympics coming to Vancouver. I thought it would be a good thing. Unfortunately, as time goes on I am starting to second guess myself. It started with the stupid Pokemonesque mascots and moved rapidly into the farcical VANOC job bid process. You see, I own an alarm company and registered as a vendor. At first I received a bunch of unrelated opportunities in the UK as well as the rest of the world. After that, I received completely unrelated postings. Then the notifications stopped. VANOC phoned me asking for my email address because Emails bounced back. I gave it to them. a couple of op's came in and once again stopped. They contacted me again... apparently the screwed up the last time. I gave them the same Email address again and guess what... Not a fricken thing. I contacted Vanoc and did not get a reply. Oh well, I'm busy enough without them and taking on their jobs would inevitably have a negative effect on my regular customers.

After that, I contacted VANOC with regard to road closures and driving issues. You see, being in the service industry with customers in the vicinity of the VANOC office as well as across the street from the Olympic Village, I needed some sort of assurance I would be able to service my customers during the Olympics should the need arise. Guess what!!! They sent me back an email giving me the URL to a useless non-descript traffic plan which said "Use transit" Ya, I'm going to pack a fucking ladder on the bus.... Get a grip people.

As if those weren't reasons enough to be embarrassed by the Olympics coming to Vancouver, the Canadian Government actually passed the Bloc motion requesting SEAL FUR BE INCLUDED IN THE OLYMPIC UNIFORMS. The federal government wants Canadian Olympians to wear a seal product — most likely skin — during the 2010 Winter Games to help protest a European Union ban on Canada’s seal hunt.

Members of Parliament from all parties voted unanimously Wednesday in favour of a Bloc Quebecois motion calling on the government to come up with a way to integrate seal pelts into the athletes’ uniforms.

“With the upcoming Winter Olympics that will be in Vancouver in 2010, the government has a chance to offer some concrete action to promote seal products,” Bloc Quebec MP Raynald Blais said. “Today we are tabling a motion aimed at studying the possibility to integrate into the Canadian athletes' uniforms. Is the government ready to act to save an industry?”

Canadian Olympic Committee president Mike Chambers said adding seal products to Olympians’ gear would not only mar athletes’ performance, but politicize the Games.

“I’m used to those in the political arena wishing to attach their issues to the Olympic arena,” he said from Lausanne, Switzerland. “But this is one … that will not and cannot be allowed to occur. It’s our intent for our athletes to remain free of the politics that arises in and around the Olympic Games. The seal issue, while important, is an issue that has become politicized.”

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games would not comment, as athletes’ uniforms are the responsibility of the Canadian Olympic Committee.

Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh was among those who supported the motion.

“It’s an industry in the Atlantic and I believe that our caucus is unanimous in supporting it,” he said.

When pressed for details, he added, “I’m not going to say anything more than what I have just said to you.”

Federal Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea said the move would signal Canada’s support of the sealing industry.

“I would imagine that the Olympic clothing is all designed and probably made by now, but I think it’s a good symbolic suggestion to add something to the outfit of our athletes. I think it would be a good statement for the Canadian sealing industry and Canada’s support of it.”

Seal skin has made high-profile appearances in the past — even on the catwalk. Inuit designers such as Elisapee Kilabuk have showcased creations as diverse as motorcycle jackets to bustiers in international shows.

Chambers said he it’s “doubtful” that the MPs wishes would make any gains.

“There are political issues all over the world,” he said. “If the IOC started allowing a patch on everyone’s uniform we’d all look like FI speed racers. Let the politics do the political thing and keep the sport to the games.”

THE OPEC MEETING

The OPEC Leaders are meeting in Vienna Austria this morning to discuss the economy as well as the future of the Oil and Gas industry. Concerns on the table include the global recession and how the OPEC MEMBERS will weather their way through it. For example, 60 % all revenue in Russia comes from Oil. With a drop in energy investments, OPEC MEMEBER RUSSIA is experiencing some financial difficulties.

It is believed the OPEC MEMBERS will be looking at the OIL production and PRICING structure to ensure they are not charging too little but at the same time they do not want the current drop in demand for OIL to continue.

Although OPEC has control over the PRICE OF CRUDE OIL, they do not want to control the end consumer prices. With Crude Oil prices far below levels seen last summer, consumers are quite upset over the lack of a price drop at the pump. We shall see the results of this 152nd MEETING OF OPEC NATIONS

I recently noticed a major BILLING SCREW-UP on the part of BELL MOBILITY. Those looking at using BELL MOBILITY for their communications may want to consider the below letter sent to Cameron McQuaig of BELL MOBILITY

Typically, when it comes to business expenses, I like to think I can trust my suppliers. That combined with a lack of time often results in me paying invoices blindly. The other day I needed to find the number for Bell so I looked at a recent unopened Bell bill. What did I find... well first of all over $100 in usage charges. My plan has unlimited incoming as well as 600 outgoing and unlimited evenings and weekends. Since I rarely send text messages and most of my calling is incoming or between mates, this came as a surprise.

When I phoned your customer service, she argued with me (at first) "You made over 1000 minutes in calls" she said. When I told her about the unlimited incoming she said I should go over my calls one at a time to see where those charges came from.... Oh ya that is my job....

After being put on hold a number of times and wasting about 1/2 hour of my time she came back and said "oh it looks like there is an error, my supervisor will look over it and call you back"
A couple hours later, she did call back. lo and behold Bell tried to screw me. It turns out, not only was I being billed for incoming calls, I was also being billed for the previous month as if it was the current month. (All calls for 2 months being considered as calls from 1 month)

Of course she said the amount would be credited. Being in business, my time is valuable. Typically a couple hundred an hour is what I figure my billable value is. Combine that with having to fix Bells' screw ups. I asked the op if I would be compensated for my time and the breach of trust on the part of Bell. She replied.. now this is funny and insulting "I did give you $ 2 or so extra"

When I asked to talk to a supervisor, she said she was busy and would call back. Big surprise, nothing yet.

Yes, I am aware as a consumer I should look over my invoices. The thing is, I like to trust people and their billing systems. When it comes to Bell, I should know better because this is not the first time your system has messed up. I am not a conspiracy theorist, however one only needs to wonder how much money Bell makes from "Billing errors".

Delta Cares?? - A Bureaucratic Lack of Initiative

Further to my earlier commentary on the damn snow and living in the "sticks" of Delta BC. It appears the requests of the neighbourhood have come upon deaf ears within the Corporation of Delta. Consequently, our worst fear has come true. Tonight as an Ambulance responded to an emergency call they got stuck. Yes, the very vehicle which is intended to save lives was hindered by the municipalities refusal to allocate enough money to a snow removal budget. I feel for the hardworking Paramedics and other Emergency Personnel whose tireless efforts are hindered by the stupidity of the local Bureaucrats. As we were out there helping the paramedics and firemen try to free the Ambulance, one of the paramedics mentioned this was not the first time they had been stuck in North Delta this evening. Hopefully the girl in the Ambulance is ok, but if it was me, I would be suing the Corporation. I have included a couple of video's of the event so those responsible could see the results of their actions (or lack thereof.) The length was cut short as I needed to grab my shovel and help. I thought it was important to document at least a little bit of the event.

The Business of being a "Minority"

This morning, Google Search trends seemed to be filled with searches for BARACK THE MAGIC NEGRO I guess somebody in the Black Community decided to re-write the Puff The Magic Dragon song. Personally, I thought it was quite funny. Being a honkey, I'm sure there are those who would call me racist for laughing at the humour, even though it was created by a Black person (Am I even allowed to say that.)

I guess what picks my ass more than a little is how a certain segment of society feels it is important to separate themselves out of the "Majority" and call themselves a "Minority." This is not limited to just the African American, the Native Indians have done it, as have the Jewish culture. Shit, some will even say Obama, himself, used his "Minority status" to get elected in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I am by no means being a racist (Sad I even have to say that.) I am simply pointing out the term "Minority" now has a measurable financial benefit. By being a "Minority" individuals have access to programs such as Affirmative Action, extra labour law protection as well as the ability to pull at the heart strings of the always guilty "Majority".

Of course the Honkey's or Heterosexuals are not allowed to distinguish themselves with elitist programs and parades like the "White Person College Fund" or the "Not Gay Pride Parade"... That would be racist and Gay bashing. But of course "Minorities" having similar elitist events and programs is just considered "Supporting the Community" and "Standing up for their Rights."

I'm all for equality under law and society, however it seems the business of "minorities" would rather have it the other way around. Take for example this whole "Obama is not Black" thang. By pointing out he is not "One of them" the African American Community is able to continue the business of being "Down-trodden" after all, without "Minority" status, there would be no special treatment.

So go ahead, call me a Cracker, call me a racist honkey.... If that makes you feel better.

Just a letter of mine to the Corporation of Delta

Merry Christmas, hopefully you were able to get out and visit family, we weren't. Not because of money or desire. It seems the Corporation of Delta feels it is acceptable to leave TAXPAYERS and VOTERS stuck behind a wall of snow.
We live on Bremridge Drive in North Delta and most of our neighbouring streets have been left unplowed for the entire Christmas season. The reason I say most, is because it seems the corridor along 79A Avenue, - 114A Street and 77th Avenue has been plowed just enough to create an impassable wall of snow for those in cars with anything less than 30" of clearance. Interesting how governments are pushing for more fuel friendly vehicles, however those living in the neighbourhoods of Delta cannot get around without a Hummer.

Of course there is the excuse, "we are working at capacity" which is odd, because every time I have seen a snowplow driving down the main roads of Delta, it was driving without spreading salt and with plough up. I guess he was on his way to Beach Grove. This also leaves me wondering what "capacity" is within the Corporation of Delta. It seems Surrey is fully capable of at least keeping the major roads salted and cleaning up most of the side streets.

As a taxpayer within any municipality, there comes some level of expectation of service. After all, what are our tax dollars paying for? Perhaps, a modification of property tax rates for those living in the unserviced regions of Delta would be appropriate as we do not seem to be benefiting from the services of the corporation. Shit, even people living in Kamloops have their side streets ploughed on a regular basis.

We have contacted the Corporation of Delta to request snow clearing on 2 occasions and have been met by a rude receptionist who suggested we hire someone to clear our streets. "Most people are hiring private companies to clear their streets" she said.

Today is December 27th, my truck has been held up for about a week now. Although there have been several breaks in the snowfall where the main roads were clear and dry, the plows have not found their way down most of the North Delta side streets. The temperature is warming up and the snow has turned to rain, now were are surrounded by 2 foot high piles of slush covering a very slippery ground. Although the main roads are once again clear, the side streets remain a bloody mess. I guess you guys are waiting for the snow to melt, typical.

The "Credit Crunch" and World financial crisis is on everyone's mind of late. I found an interesting article this morning which related to banks and their origin as small time hoodlums. It points out that Banks started out as Artisans with vaults storing gold for people then lending out little pieces of paper as promissory notes so people could buy shit. Basically the creation of a "Cash" system over a Gold based system.

Since that time, the creation of these pieces of paper has been taken over by federal mints. As a guess, to thwart the scammers and create a stable financial system. Of course, this was soon circumvented by the creation of Credit Cards. The Banks now had ultimate control. Add this to the low interest introductory rates and the big banks (of which CITIBANK is one of the biggest culprits) had world consumers by the short and curlies.

But wait, are the Banks solely responsible for this credit crisis? Ya they were the ones with those low interest loans, no money down mortgages and various other money lending tools, however they cannot hold all the blame.

This is not the first time this has happened, back in the 80's a similar crunch happened with Balloon payments, housing market crash and money devaluation followed by a rapid increase in lending rates. It is no secret this was bound to happen again. So who is responsible.

We went through the Bank role in this,now how about the Real Estate Agents. This particular level of Douche bag who are supposed to be educated in the ways of the housing market kept telling home buyers"Oh you must buy now the prices are going "up up up!" By way of a wicked segue, that brings us to the consumers. This particular level of idiot believed everything they were told. And why not, it wasn't like a recession ever happened in the past (Sarcasm). They believed this was different, they wanted to live in the lap of luxury, they wanted all the toys without actually paying for them up front, THEY WANTED INSTANT GRATIFICATION. This all comes down to CONSUMER STUPIDITY.

For the past couple of years, my favorite catch phrase among friends when they asked me how my business was doing (Great by the way) was "Consumer Stupidity is at an all time high." It was easy to sell almost anything, consumers wanted and demanded the best. They didn't care about the cost, after all their "friends" at the credit card companies and banks were there to take care of them.

Where did banks come from?

Here's a really short answer in one kind of long, run-on sentence:

"Banks" started as little lending operations by guys who had vaults in their little artisan shops, and they had a little bit of gold that they wanted to keep safe, and because they had these vaults in their little Artisan shops they could keep other people's gold safe for them in those vaults as well, and they could issue little promissory notes to those people whose gold was stored in their vaults, and originally these folks made a little bit of money renting out space in the vault in which other people could store their gold, and then they started making a little more money when they began, at first, lending out their gold (with interest, of course), and then later on lending out little pieces of paper that represented a certain amounts-worth of gold---both their gold AND those folks who had their gold stored for safe keeping in their vaults---or using those now-accepted little pieces of paper themselves to lend to other people (more and more interest), and then even later on by creating more and more pieces of paper that were supposed to be backed by gold in the vault, but no one really knew what was in the vault so these guys could issue as much paper as they wanted: and they, in turn made more and more money off of the interest of their lending and hoped of course that people wouldn't all come to their vault at once and demand their gold instead of the little pieces of paper. That's banking 101, or banking in a nutshell.

Of course you can recognize that centuries of European Colonialism and Expansionism (and subsequent American Expansionism and Globalization via the IMF and The World Bank) was funded either through the vaults of the throne, OR by "little pieces of paper that were accepted as representing a certain amount of gold" lent---at interest---by these guys who used to be Artisans who happened to have vaults, but now had become proto-bankers, or, money-lenders. And of course as these guys got richer and richer, and their operations became larger and larger, and their prestige and importance grew and grew, the "industry" of banking became a centerpiece in the evolution of the global economy.

Kind of intriguing, isn't it? Banking was born because sneaky guys with vaults found out that they could make money without really ever having to do any work. Seriously. The guys who at one time were Artisans---you know, like millers and silversmiths and distillers--- discovered that simply by charging rent, and then interest, vis-a-vis the storage of gold in their vaults and the creation of little pieces of paper that were, in theory, backed by that gold, they they could stop doing the labor, and stop producing the stuff that they had been producing all this time through all of their hard work, and simply sit back and watch their fortunes grow. Brilliant. And everyone soon came to rely upon the good favor of the banker, because no one's income vis-a-vis their production of goods and services allowed them to make ends meet. (Hmmm, I wonder why?)

And so now here we are, on the cusp of 2009. And what started out somewhat innocently, and arguably by accident, has evolved and morphed and mutated into the global economic foundation of a way of life. And it is banking that has finally---and irreparably---destroyed our civilization. Make no mistake about it: banking and the governments who facilitate banking (Fractional Reserve Banking within regimes of FIAT currency to be more specific) have, through their greed and accumulation of wealth based upon the production of NOTHING, led us to this point. Quadrillions of dollars of "wealth" created by and for armies of bankers and financiers and hedge fund managers who produce nothing. Nothing! And now, a brief eleven years after the birth of the derivatives market, another QUADRILLION dollars in DEBT: "wealth" that actually doesn't exist at all!! And we're all banging on the doors of the guys who have these vaults full of our "gold"---but the vaults are worse than empty: they are filled with TRILLIONS and TRILLIONS of dollars of worthless little pieces of paper. And all of our capital has been destroyed. And the entire banking industry---that usurious industry in which people sit back and make millions off of the work and production of the rest of us---the entire banking industry is insolvent, bankrupt, shipwrecked on a coral reef of DEBT. And when Paulson and Kashkari talk about lending money to "healthy" banks, they are lying. Because in this environment NO bank has assets in their vaults that could be considered healthy. Most banks are leveraged 30, 40, 50:1, debt to equity. But even banks that are leveraged 10:1, or even 5:1 (they don't exist, but just for arguments sake) are insolvent because NONE of that debt is being serviced. None of that debt can be serviced, because everyone is bankrupt. And when our money---OUR MONEY!!!---is given to these financial institutions by Paulson and Bernanke and Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi in order to keep them from collapsing, please realize what this means: it means that our money is being given by the TRILLIONS of dollars to institutions that produce NOTHING, and whose only source of wealth is through loaning our money back to us and taking us for the interest!!!

So, what is to be done? I figure that the folks who have a stake in the survival of this system will do everything they can to keep this dirty little secret from the masses---that all money is debt, and that bankers and their agents in government become rich by maintaining a system in which the rest of us remain in debt servitude throughout our lives. I also think that only by becoming very small---subsisting in the smallest of communities and attempting to insulate ourselves from the usurious leeches---will we be able to eventually undermine the system enough and leave it mortally wounded. Unfortunately, as is easy to see, the rulers of this system will be damned if they're gonna let us get away with it.

OK, I know I tend to go off on tirates when it comes to Unions and how they are partly responsible for our current economic crisis... Well that and consumer stupidity combined with the never ending greed of the banks.

Today's little news tidbit really got my blood pumping. Apparently the US Democrats, being the lefties they are, have decided keeping Union Wages in the auto plants is more important than actually saving those jobs. SAY WHAT, give your heads a fucking shake people, THERE IS NO MONEY. Sorry to say, the cash cow has run out of milk.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Unions will cause the death of society. Yes, at one point in time they did help. The thing is, the need for unions has diminished. Fact of the matter is, if Unions were not so demanding, many low education jobs would not be farmed out to Asia. Of course there are other factors, however stripping the power of the unions would be one piece of the puzzle.

For those who still don't understand, here is a simple layout on how unions are fucking over the economy:

- Busines owners are in business to make money. They take the risks so therefor they deserve a profit. That and investors and RRSP Funds also need that profit as their income depends on those companies being profitable.

- Union workers come in and say, wait a minute, we want more money because we need to be a couple steps above the cost of living index so we can buy Hummer's and other Big Trucks Ugg Ugg, penis needs power.

- An increase in wages increases the cost of making and delivering products. Companies now need to balance things out so their investors and those holding RRSP's don't get pissed off and dump the stock, or worse the company doesn't go out of business. To get this money back, the company must raise the price of their products and or services. These costs get passed down the chain effecting everyone in various sectors of the economy.

- Whoa, hold on everything costs more, union workers start to bitch, we can't afford gas for our bug trucks, we can't afford Beer, Cigarette's and other essentials. So what happens next??? The Fucking Union goes on strike because, yes once again, they want more Fucking money.

Can you see this trend. Eventually, corporate and investor need for profit results in labour out sourcing, which then creates a trade deficit and money devaluates.

OK, so this might be an over simplification of things, but it is happening and will continue to happen so long as these Dumb ass Union leaders are dragging the world around by the short and curlies.

Jasmine.... Nobody's Hero??? but wait

Jasmine, I only met you a few hours ago but you have left an impression on my life which I know I will never forget. It was a rainy day in Delta and I can only assume you were walking to the bus stop from your day working somewhere on Annacis Island. You may not be famous like Britney Spears, Sarah Palin or Karissa and Kristina Shannon but, for what it is worth, you deserve a mention in my blog.

A beautiful woman in the prime of your life and I'm sure you had a glint in your eyes as you thought of your plans for the weekend. New to Canada, it seems you did not have a drivers licence, but as I looked at the picture on your citizenship card, your smile shone through as I looked for your birth date so I could tell the 911 operator how old you were. 1978... that would make you 28, far to young to die. Of course this is an assumption based on the tone of the Victims services counsellor from the Delta Police when she called me to see how I was doing.

Being a mere witness to your last moments, I hardly feel worthy of the time she spent calling me, to discuss my feelings on what I saw. I'm sure your family is missing you immensely and I sympathise with their loss. I only knew you for a few minutes which seemed like hours as you lay on the ground looking at those around you with a somewhat grateful look that you had been noticed. Yet, as I look back on those minutes, I feel I have known you for my entire life. The loss I feel is as if you were a long time friend.

Sorry about not seeing you sooner, unfortunately the woman who was driving the car which hit you found it more important to talk on her cell phone only briefly telling us she did not need an ambulance then brushing us off as 3 witnesses to the crash stood around wondering what to do next. From the moment I saw you, minutes turned into what felt like hours as I described the scene in as much detail as I could to the 911 operator. These visions are permanently etched in my mind, however be assured this is not how you will be remembered. Your last few minutes have reminded me of the importance of enjoying every minute of life as if it was the last. Sometimes we have no control over our fate and our life is put into the hands of those who should not be behind the wheel of an automobile.

So as you rest, Dear Jasmine, please rest knowing you have made an indelible mark on my life as well as the lives of the other two who were with you the last few moments of your life. I will never forget the way you looked up at the three of us with as much hope as you could muster for that moment. Once again, I truly apologise for not finding you sooner, perhaps those few minutes would have made a difference, that I will never know. What I do know is, without even trying, you have taught me to cherish every minute, as human existence is nothing more than a collection of minutes, life is what we make of those precious minutes. So yes, you are a Hero.

I could continue on about my anger towards the driver of the car, however be assured I will tell your story as best I can.

As a day after addition to this post. I have been reading over the comments and watching the stats of this blog for the last few hours. It seems Jasmine has touched the lives of many. From her Brother Jerome, who generously left me his number to talk about the life of his sister, to her many co-workers and friends who have visited and commented on this posting since last night, the visits and return visits are seen as a tribute to life life of Jasmine.
For those who have been reading the posts and comments, please feel free to add your own comments and experiences in knowing Jasmine. Perhaps your words will help her many friends and family members cope with the loss of such a special person. Beware of Panic or Anxiety Attacks, they may be a sign of worse to come

Re reading the title, I can see how this might cause some over concern in the hypochondriacs of the world, the story does need to be told though.

I was reading through the local newspaper this morning and I ran across a front page story of a local Delta Girl, Brandi Knapp, who died of an undiagnosed heart condition known as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. I guess I should say her condition was mis-diagnosed SEVERAL TIMES. Apparently the local hack doctor(s) said he rapid and irregular heart beats as well as dizziness and shortness of breath were caused by PANIC ATTACKS.

This 13 year old girl lived a very happy existance and from how the story reads, was always friendly to everyone, even the unpopular and picked on kids. It is a sad thing when a child with so much zest for life and caring for others leaves this world so early. Even worse is the fact her condition whould have been treatable had her doctor done his/her job properly. A simple Elecro-cardiogram (ECG) would have exposed her condition and Brandi would not have died such an untimely death.

The condition is a result of an extra connection in the heart which causes an abnormally fast heartbeat and other symptoms such as dizziness. My hope is those searching for INFORMATION ON ANXIETY or PANIC ATTACKS read this article and push their doctors for a more thorough examination. With modern technology the way it is, there is no need for any more 13 year old children to die of a completely managable condition.

In closing, I hope the lazy assed doctors who's complacency caused Brandi's untimely death get sued for all they are worth and banned from medical practice. This is NOT a little mistake.

The first thing people noticed about Brandi Knapp was her ever-changing hair colour. It could be red one day, streaked with blue the next, blonde the week after that. A fashion-conscious teen, she loved to dress with flair and march to her own drum, happily snapping photos along the way.

"She always took a different path, even as a little girl," remembers her mom, Lisa.

"She just liked to do things differently. She didn't like to be like everybody else, that's all." She wasn't entirely a non-conformist, though.

"She listened when we told her something. With the hair and clothes, I let her do what she wanted, as long as she didn't act out in other ways, which she didn't. She was good." Creative.

Different.

Caring.

Social.

Cheerful.

These are other words used to describe the young, photogenic Deltan, whose life was cut short after suffering the unthinkable: cardiac arrest triggered by an undiagnosed heart defect.

The day it happened plays like a movie in Lisa's mind, in full detail. For those close to Brandi Marie Knapp, it's like a real-life horror film. Until too late, her parents knew nothing about Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, an alphabet-soup jumble of words used to define abnormal electric pathways in the heart that cause disruption to its normal rhythm.

Like Brandi, people with WPW are born with an extra connection in the heart, leading to an abnormally fast heartbeat and symptoms such as dizziness and shortness of breath.

Over the 13 years of her life, Brandi had complained to her parents about these irritants.

"Doctors told us it was just anxiety, panic attacks," recalls Lisa.

In rare cases, the syndrome can lead to cardiac arrest and sudden death.

"If we'd known she had this," says Lisa, "all we would have had to do is take her into emergency and her take some medication, or have them stop her heart to put it back into rhythm. We had no idea."

On Thanksgiving Day, Brandi woke up feeling good and excited about meeting a friend at Pinewood Elementary. It was a familiar trip for the first-year Seaquam Secondary student, who, since Kindergarten, had bused to the Watershed Park-area school from her family's home on Ladner Truck Road. This time out, her mom drove her.

"Usually," recalls Lisa, "she'd give me a hug or just say, 'Thanks for the ride, mom,' but that time she gave me a real kiss, on the lips. That was nice."

Brandi met her friend and off they went for the day.

Little more than an hour later, Lisa received a phone call.

It was Brandi, and she wasn't feeling well.

Her mom told her to relax and try to catch her breath, maybe lie down for a bit.

A couple hours later, another phone call from Brandi, this time asking her mom to pick her up.

"I could hear in her voice that something wasn't right."

She'd thrown up and looked like she'd come down with the flu.

At home, Brandi lied down on the couch and dry-heaved several times. She grew unresponsive as the afternoon wore on, her body cold and clammy.

By dinner time, Lisa put her hand on her daughter's stomach while dad Kevin watched over her. At that very moment, Brandi gasped as her head was thrown back and her back arched.

Cardiac arrest.

Paramedics arrived on the scene in decent time, but the first ambulance wasn't equipped with a defibrillator to help restart Brandi's broken heart. As the clock ticked, she slipped into a coma and never regained consciousness.

Five days later, she died in hospital.

On Sunday, nearly 400 people - family, friends, neighbours and teachers - said goodbye to Brandi at Valley View Funeral Home in Surrey.

They remembered her as a social butterfly who sang in the school choir and loved to bake, figure-skate and create giant collages of photos, many of them self-portraits.

She always championed the underdog, treating others like she'd want to be treated.

"She really took that to heart," says Lisa. "I've heard stories now about her stepping up and making friends with the kids who were picked on and made fun of. That was her."

Brandi talked of being a model when she grew up, or maybe an actress.

But her dreams were dashed by WPW, a potentially deadly acronym for a syndrome that can only be detected by a cardiologist using an electrocardiogram (ECG) test.

At the hospital with Brandi comatose, her parents were told about the syndrome, which isn't well known and is difficult to diagnose.

"Now we know what it is," Kevin says with resignation.

"Too late."

This week, Lisa said she's going to be tested for WPW, having suffered panic attacks, as is Brandi's older sister Becky.

"The only thing that could help losing her," says Lisa, "is if we could have one parent whose child is having panic attacks, to take the child to a doctor and push the issue, get the tests done. If we'd known more, we'd have had the tests done in a heartbeat, if we knew it was something more serious than just panic attacks. If we can save one child and the parents from going through something like this, that's what we hope for."

Bush decided in his inifinate stupidity that changing the length of daylight savings time would be a good thing for the environment. I guess this was better than angering his gas guzzling chronies back in the Lonestar state by making some real environment helping changes.

As a mom, I feel responsible for sharing information about this news with you. Carter's has made a press release (but not a recall, which is infuriating), about the "tagless" clothes in their fall 2007 line. They are causing chemical burns on some babies and young kids. Here is the press release from the Consumer Products Safety Commission. I know this problem only affects a small percentage of consumers, but Carter's was a brand I trusted and it is discouraging to have that trust marred.

This really contributes to the overall paranoid feeling you might naturally have as a parent that the world can be a dangerous place for your baby. Just as our parents thought "You can't trust the government," I feel that our generation must think, "You can't trust corporations." And in a free market economy, it is pretty scary to not be able to trust corporations. Since Mac has been born, we've seen it again and again: The plastic bottles and cups we heated leached chemicals into his body. The organic formula we used was loaded with cheap sugar. The clothes we put him in caused chemical burns on some. I know it needs to be kept in perspective (how many hundreds of products do we use that don't cause any problems?), but I am still allowed to be discouraged!

So there is now a rumour going around that Dr. Phil Cheated on his wife of 31 years. In my search for information on Dr. Phil Cheating and the Dr. Phil Affair, I ran into this interesting article whic kind of illustrates how I feel about the Media Whore that is Dr. Phil.

The medical community is fed up with “Dr.” Phil. The last straw came when he showed up to counsel Britney when she was hospitalized and then immediately had a press conference stating his opinion of her condition. Although Britney was never a patient of Dr. Phil’s, if a doctor were to reveal information about a patient’s condition this would be a violation of HIPPA laws.

However, Dr. Phil is not a licensed psychologist. He claims the “Dr.” in the Dr. Phil name because he has a Ph.D. in psychology. He did have a license 20 years ago. Dr. Phil was reprimanded by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists for an “inappropriate dual relationship” with a therapy client in 1988; McGraw was required to take ethics classes in order to continue his private practice in Texas. McGraw admits to giving the client a job at his office (which of course isn’t allowed) but denied carrying on a sexual relationship with the 19 year old, who says their relationship was both sexual and codependent. Shortly thereafter he founded Courtroom Sciences, Inc. which is how he met the great and powerful Oprah.

Dr. Phil and wife, Robin, love to tell everyone that they have been happily married for 31 years. 1988 was just twenty years ago. If Dr. Phil had a relationship with the 19 year old client-turned-secretary then it would have been during his marriage to Robin. This adds another blemish to “Dr.” Phil’s image–or rather, the image he wants us to believe.

Practicing psychology without a license is a felony. What can authorities really do to him? They can’t take away the license that he doesn’t have. However, the medical community wants to protect the public from Dr. Phil. They are seeking to have a disclaimer that plays before each of his shows stating that Phil is not a licensed medical professional and that most of his advice goes against medical advice.
Also, any person that is on his show signs a waiver stating that they understand that Dr. Phil doesn’t have a license. Dr. Phil certainly seems to know his way around the law. If you have been diagnosed with a mental illness, then you cannot go on his show. Why? Because Phil doesn’t have a license, he only has a degree in psychology. Phil can’t legally counsel a person with a diagnosed mental illness. He failed to renew his license after the affair allegations. The waiver that people on his show sign states the following:

* You do not suffer from mental illness.

* You are not under psychiatric care.

* You understand “anything” Dr. Phil says is not therapy or a substitute for any form of therapy. (So what’s the point of his show?)

If you can’t or won’t sign the waiver, the producers won’t allow you on the show — for your own protection. Which sort of undercuts the whole “he’s a qualified mental health professional” right?

When the fame-whoring “Dr.” Phil heard about the Britney Spears fiasco he probably saw a great opportunity–for himself. Britney is probably the most talked-about celebrity on the planet. Also, Britney has not been formally diagnosed (that anyone knows of) with a psychological condition. “Dr.” Phil thought he could get in on some of that Britney publicity.

Wonder what Oprah thinks? We do too. Dr. Phil isn’t the first faker that she has endorsed on her show. Remember James Frey and Dr. Jan Adams (R.I.P. Donda West)? Currently, Oprah is trying to get Barack Obama into the White House. Let’s hope Barack is everything that Oprah believes him to be. He could be our next president

The Chinese are killing our babies

So they have a population problem. The thing is we don't and Chinese companies are found at fault for the deaths of yet 2 more infants. This time a crib joins the long list of deadly products manufactured in China. Of course we are also at fault, as western culture seems to be geared towards getting something for nothing or at least finding the cheapest price irregardless of quality.

In fact, the word "quality" has been overused by companies like ADT, Alarmforce and even insurance companies we really don't know what it means. All we do know is companies use the word to convince us that we need to buy their shit. Yes, Alarmforce and ADT wireless systems are shit. Of course that is off topic, I was just trying to illustrate how we fall for these cheap or "no charge" options believing we will get "Quality" when history and common economics dictates lowest price usually means low standards, and cost cutting measures.

At the same time, these people falling for this "cheap is good" garbage are in unions demanding more money for the work they do. Odd, they want more money, but yet they will not support the same for other industries. Where I come from that is called Hypocrisy.

All that being said, it is very hard finding something NOT made in China these days.

No more than 2 days after my wife asked me "What ever happened to eminem?" To preface this, we were talking about crap groups like Hanson at the time. We were watching an episode of House where House had his ring tone set to some song from Hansen. It scares me that I even recognized the song.

So anyways, onto the topic at hand. Apparently, wigger bad ass wannabe Eminem has decided to pollute the radio waves with more of his misogynistic Plastic Wrap (just came up with that now)

So the title of the new album is going to be "Relapse" which generally refers to something bad coming back again. There ya go, the title says it all, like a bout of Diarrhea, Eminem is back.

I just got this email today. Typically I ignore petition emails as they are usually crap. Honestly, I wish I had ignored this Email. Watching the video of the assholes at a Chinese fur farm has stunned me. As I am writing this post, I am struggling with words to describe how I feel about the situation. Disturbed, sick, saddened and disgusted don't even begin to describe my feelings at this moment in time. It is sort of a numb stomach curling extremely sad feeling.

As I child, I grew up with pets of all sorts, hamsters, Guinea pigs and dogs. Currently, I have 6 very spoiled PET Chinchilla's, and my parents have two dogs which I enjoy visiting and they seem to enjoy the visits. Having been around pets all my life, I know they have feelings and they respond to attention and love.

It sickens me to no end that a group of individuals would consider this type of activity acceptable, further to add to my disdain I cannot believe that a government could condone such activity. China is a communist country, so you better believe they condone this. In fact, they are making money off it.

This is the same country that just recently hosted the 2008 Summer Olympic Games and also manufactures many of the goods consumed by the western world today. PETA is looking to have a petition signed so they can act on these atrocities. Me, I would like to suggest the world stop buying good made by these dirtbags. I am not one to promote hatred against a country, and I understand that all the people in a country cannot be held accountable for the actions of their government.

I consider myself a capitalist and definitely like to save money and make money and am far from a tree hugger. That being said, I ask you to join me in this boycott of good made in China. I know it is difficult to find good made elsewhere, and sometimes it may be impossible. However, most products do have alternatives.

When undercover investigators made their way onto Chinese fur farms recently, they found that many animals are still alive and struggling desperately when workers flip them onto their backs or hang them up by their legs or tails to skin them. When workers on these farms begin to cut the skin and fur from an animal's leg, the free limbs kick and writhe. Workers stomp on the necks and heads of animals who struggle too hard to allow a clean cut.

When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals' heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog on the heap of carcasses who had enough strength to lift his bloodied head and stare into the camera.

Before they are skinned alive, animals are pulled from their cages and thrown to the ground; workers bludgeon them with metal rods or slam them on hard surfaces, causing broken bones and convulsions but not always immediate death. Animals watch helplessly as workers make their way down the row.

Undercover investigators from Swiss Animal Protection/EAST International recently toured fur farms in China's Hebei Province, and it quickly became clear why outsiders are banned from visiting. There are no regulations governing fur farms in China—farmers can house and slaughter animals however they see fit—meaning miserable lives and excruciating deaths. The investigators found horrors beyond their worst imaginings and concluded, "Conditions on Chinese fur farms make a mockery of the most elementary animal welfare standards. In their lives and their unspeakable deaths, these animals have been denied even the simplest acts of kindness."

On these farms, foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals pace and shiver in outdoor wire cages, exposed to driving rain, freezing nights, and, at other times, scorching sun. Mother animals, who are driven crazy from rough handling and intense confinement and have nowhere to hide while giving birth, often kill their babies after delivering litters. Disease and injuries are widespread, and animals suffering from anxiety-induced psychosis chew on their own limbs and throw themselves repeatedly against the cage bars.

The globalization of the fur trade has made it impossible to know where fur products come from. Skins move through international auction houses and are purchased and distributed to manufacturers around the world, and finished goods are often exported. China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States. Even if a fur garment's label says it was made in a European country, the animals were likely raised and slaughtered elsewhere—possibly on an unregulated Chinese fur farm.

Because a fur's origin can't be traced, anyone who wears any fur at all shares the blame for the horrific conditions on Chinese fur farms. The only way to prevent such unimaginable cruelty is never to wear any fur. Take PETA's pledge to be fur-free today!

PINCHER CREEK, Alta. - A man has been convicted of animal cruelty for dumping five puppies down an outhouse toilet last January and leaving them to die.

The Crown is seeking jail time for Frederick Hoath, 57, of Fernie, B.C., who was found guilty in provincial court in Pincher Creek, Alta. He is to be sentenced Jan. 27. A co-accused in the case, Samantha Rieberger, has pleaded not guilty and is to stand trial Feb. 9.

RCMP received a 911 call from a motorist who had stopped to use the outhouse in the Crowsnest Pass on the Alberta-B.C. boundary and heard whining coming from inside.

Five Lab-cross puppies about eight weeks old had been tossed into the outhouse pit and were eventually rescued after the structure was dismantled.

There are a few things in this world that really pick my ass. To pull a couple from the pile, Bitching Hippies and Bicyclists that think they can ride on the road like a car.

I live in the Lower Mainland area of Metro Vancouver. Today, there is another one of those fucked up bike rallies. They call it "Critical Mass". Apparently, there are a bunch of fucked up Hippies who seem to think everyone in the fucking world should be riding bikes. So to drive their view home, these twats disrupt traffic by getting out on their bikes enmass.

1. I am a contractor. There is no fucking way I can pack a god damn ladder and 10 boxes of wire onto a bicyle.
2. These puss heads claim they are doing this for the environment. Sure their bikes don't polute, unless you count the flatulence of 1000 hippies. The thing that causes pollution, is all the poor saps stuck in traffic just trying to get home to be with their families after a long day of work.

For those protesting hippies who have no idea what work is, just imagine if you weren't getting welfare or running a grow op out of your basement.... How would you get money for food and rent. Oh ya right, steal from those with money and race off on your bikes. Fuckers!!!!

After a number of years sucking on the bottle (Or Cock) the members of Metallica are back with a new album called Death Magnetic. The first single to be released is called Day That Never Comes. Personally, I will not have anything to do with these dirtbags, just like I have decided not to listen to Nickleback anymore because Chad Kroeger is a whiney little asshole that refuses to take responsibility for his dumb-ass actions.
So for all those people prosecuted because they downloaded a Metallica song off the internet, let's boycott this new album. Maybe they will learn. Well it is worth a try anyway.

Oddly enough, western civilization feels the female breast should be covered and hidden from the open enjoyment of others. Of course, me being me, I decided to search for the Email address of the poor moronic sap who was the undersigned of this letter (Cameron McQuaig VP of some bullshit at Bell Mobility) It seems there really wasn't anything listed - Of Course. So why is it OK for African Americans to say it but not us honkey's? After all, it is all in the tone it is said. If a person just off handedly says nigger as a description or if he/she says it in a derogatory fashion are two separate issues. Why is this one word so banned in the English language. What makes them so fucking special that this word is so verboten? I understand the whole slave thing and that was bad... very bad. Also, the white supremest are a bunch of assholes and most of the world knows this.

Just to flip the coin for a second, we often hear African Americans use the term "Whitey." This is usually in some rap song and is said with more disdain than the average person saying "nigger" as a cultural reference. Why then, is this not considered hateful when the other is? In a world with an ever growing vocabulary, it seems words are being added every day. Why then, is there such an effort to remove this one word from the English Language (Particularly when no hate is intended)? Sounds kind of Orwellian to me...

O'Reilly let out the first bit of the quote last week. As Jackson waited to appear on another Fox program, he whispered to a fellow guest that he was annoyed with Obama for statements Obama was making at African-American churches.

"I want to cut his nuts off," Jackson whispered, making a sharp motion with his right hand.

Jackson's alleged use of the n-word is ironic because Jackson has called on African Americans not to use it.

After "Seinfeld" actor Michael Richards' racist rant in a comedy club two years ago, Jackson said on Fox and in his Chicago Sun-Times column that the n-word is a "hate word ... it's a punch in the groin disguised as a word. ... It is divisive, it is painful. One cannot sanitize this. So whether it is degrading or self-degrading, whether it is hate or self-hate, it is wrong."

Jackson has apologized for the remarks he thought were not being taped, saying they were "crude." He was traveling in Europe on Wednesday and could not be reached for comment.

Elizabeth Alexander, director of the ACLU’s National Prison Project, said survivors simply should steer clear of websites that would be painful to see. "It does not seem that you can design a limit on the 1st Amendment based on an expectation that victims will seek out something that gives them more pain," she said.

After the widow of an Arizona murder victim became outraged by the killer's online personals ad, that state's legislators passed a law banning inmates from the Internet even through outside contacts. In 2003, a judge declared it unconstitutional.

A year earlier, a judge had barred California prison officials from enforcing a rule prohibiting inmates from receiving materials printed from the Internet -- a measure officials said was partly to prevent encoded messages.

Missouri adopted a rule last year, similar to one in Florida, prohibiting inmates from soliciting pen pals on the Internet, saying that several had been scamming their new friends. Prison spokesman Brian Hauswirth said many solicitations were misleading, and one female prisoner received $10,000 each from several men who thought she loved them.

Randall Berg, an attorney with the Florida Justice Institute who plans to challenge the Sunshine State's pen-pal solicitation ban, said such rules violate free speech and reduce the odds that prisoners will be able to stay out of prison.

"They can't use a pen pal [anymore] to help find employment or a place to live," he said.

Writing to outsiders is beneficial even for death row inmates with slim prospects for freedom, Berg said. "Idleness is the devil's workshop."

The Internet essays of condemned inmates provide glimpses of their interests, thoughts and lives. And prisoner art abounds.

Former professional gambler Herbert Coddington, convicted of sexually assaulting two adolescent models and strangling two chaperons in South Lake Tahoe in 1987, used his page to invite people to commission his art.

Ng, found guilty in 1999 of 11 murders at a secluded Calaveras County cabin, said on his Web page that he draws endangered animals that remind him of his own struggle to survive.

"To raise money for my day-to-day items and additional art materials, I would . . . sell a small number of prints," he wrote.

Officials say inmates are prohibited from conducting a business. But "that is not to say they don't," Messick said.

Some prison artwork and correspondence even wind up on auction sites as "murderabilia." Officials say it is very difficult to tell how the items got there and whether prisoners are profiting.

Peterson, on his page on the Canadian website, announced in 2005 that he no longer would be responding to writers because some were selling his notes. But last month, he launched a blog on his family's legal defense site.

There, he wrote: "Knowing that there are rational, thoughtful people willing to look at the evidence, and some so kind as to drop notes of good will or send a small donation has a huge positive impact." By the end of the month, about 100 e-mail expressions of support had been posted.

Many inmates solicit mail on pen-pal sites. A serial killer looking for correspondents described himself as "lonely death row Teddy . . . seeking female teddy bear who is nonjudgmental."

Many prisoners' writings do not mention their crimes; others express remorse. Some who deny wrongdoing dissect the evidence and attack police, prosecutors and judges.

"Their saying [that] they were wrongfully convicted is a criticism of the government and . . . is the most central aspect of free speech," said John Boston, director of the New York City Legal Aid Society's prisoner rights project.

And there are the short stories of former Crips gang member Steve Champion, on death row for a 1980 double murder during an attempted robbery in Los Angeles County.

In one of his stories, Champion describes the silence and tension among condemned prisoners on days when one of them is to die.

"It is both eerie and sickish," he wrote, "as if some mysterious and awful sore is readying to discharge itself as the clock ticks down."

I just ran across this story where Walmart has pulled a COMIC BOOK because a few blow hards feel it is racially charged and politically incorrect. The comic, Memín Pinguín, is hugely popular in Mexico and has been around since the 40's. Although acceptable for the Mexicans, a few whiners in the US feel they are too good for this childhood tale.

Is it just me or is this whole politically correct bullshit going a little to fucking far? I'm not all that surprised that the Walmart Ministry of Truth pulled such a stunt. After all, they are the same group that forced the Goo Goo dolls to change their album cover for "A boy named goo" because it had a picture of a child with jam in his fingers (Apparently this portrays violence.) In another Instance, they forced Nirvana to change the lyrics of one of their songs on the walmart version of their CD.

With all this banning of anything appearing violent and wrong, Walmart looked even more hypocritical when Sheryl Crow came under fire for criticizing Walmart's sale of guns. I am all for a store being able to choose what they sell in their locations, however forcing artists to change their material based on their personal and religious beliefs is far too Orwellian for a company claiming to be "American".

Dog has Tayside religious fanatics all upset

OK, so this group of Muslims in Dundee is pissed off because of a picture os a puppy on a police advertisement. Apparently dogs are unclean to them and this is offensive. To make matters worse, the police department is actually appologising for this. For fuck sake people, the dog looks clean to me. I am ok with religious freedoms and feel everyone whould have the right to believe in what they want and speak their mind. But why should we appologise for a simple ad like this.

A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims. Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.

The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer's hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine. The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.

Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards. 'It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities. 'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.'

Councillor Asif, who is a member of the Tayside Joint Police Board, said that the force had a diversity adviser and was generally very aware of such issues. He raised the matter with Mr Vine at a meeting of the board. The chief constable said he was unaware of the concerns and that the force had not sought to cause any upset but added he would look into the matter.

Councillor Asif said: 'People who have shops just won't put up the postcard. But the police have said to me that it was simply an oversight and they did not seek to offend or upset.'

Cards featuring police dog-in-training Rebel have been distributed to communities throughout the area to advertise the single number point of contact for non-emergency calls to the police.

Rebel has proved a popular recruit for Tayside Police after coming through the very first Lothian and Borders Police dog-breeding programme in February. One of seven German Shepherd pups born in early December, he has now completed his course of inoculations, and is free to venture out onto the streets of Tayside.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: 'Trainee police dog Rebel has proved extremely popular with children and adults since being introduced to the public, aged six weeks old, as Tayside Police's newest canine recruit.

OMG! What is that on my car's license plate? That's the question asked by 10,000 drivers who registered their vehicles in North Carolina last year and got registrations starting with "WTF." Long just an innocuous combination of three letters, like OMG ("Oh my God!") WTF is now heavy with vulgar connotations: it is an oft-used email and mobile phone abbreviation that means "What the fuck."

In North Carolina, WTF plates were issued to some 9,999 drivers last year, including elementary school teacher Mary Ann Hardee, who teaches computing and technology, the News and Observer newspaper reported earlier this month. "She wasn't hip to the Internet-age significance of her new license plate -- until she caught her teenage grandchildren giggling at it," Dan Kane, staff writer at the paper wrote. Hardee, 60, told the paper she "developed this real self-consciousness" once she found out what her number plate meant in techno-shorthand. She petitioned the Department of Motor Vehicles, which ordered that she and everyone else who had a WTF number plate should receive new plates FOC -- free of charge.

This year, North Carolina registrations have three-letter combinations starting with the letter Y. The Department of Motor Vehicles has carefully scrutinized the plates and deemed that none are offensive, according to the News and Observer. Just another example of old world stupidity. Apparently there is a chinese "Tiger Wine" which is derived from soaking a dead tiger carcass in rice wine. Here is the story of stupidity:

Illegal "tiger bone wine" is still being made and sold by some animal parks in China, say campaigners.

The Environmental Investigation Agency says staff at two parks offered to sell the drink, made from carcasses soaked in rice wine, to its researchers.

The trade in parts of the endangered species has been subject to an international ban since 1987, and has been outlawed in China since 1989.

Despite global conservation efforts, tiger numbers continue to decline.

There are an estimated to be 3,500-7,500 tigers left in the wild, compared with roughly 100,000 at the start of the 20th Century.

'Closed market' sales

The UK-based NGO said its investigators found that the wine, deemed to be a health tonic to treat conditions such as arthritis and rheumatism, was being openly advertised at the parks.
Staff said the wine was made from tigers that had died after fighting with other big cats at the venues.

One park produced what they said was a government permit that allowed the sale of the tiger-derived wine on the premises, but the EIA researchers said it was not possible to verify whether the permit was genuine.

The EIA said a senior worker, when questioned by its researchers, said that she was aware that the tigers were a protected species and trading of any part of the animals "in the open market" was prohibited.

Tiger farms

Conservationists estimate that tigers now only occupy just 7% of their historical range, primarily as a result of habitat loss, hunting and poaching.
They believe that there are just 2,500 breeding adults left in the wild and without more resources made available to protect the animals, the cats face an uncertain future.

Since the 1980s, a number of "tiger farms" have been set up in China. These establishments are believed to house about 5,000 captive tigers, possibly more than remain in the wild.

During last year's high-level summit of the global Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (Cites), the Chinese delegation raised the possibility of ending its domestic ban in order to allow the use of farmed tiger parts.

They argued that this would prove to be the most sustainable option because it would satisfy the demand from traditional medicine practitioners without threatening the wild tiger population.

Although this approach was supported by some conservation groups, others warned that it would undermine efforts by the Chinese government to curb poaching.

They said that it would be cheaper to kill a wild tiger than to rear a captive one, and it would be very difficult to tell the difference between the two.

"Lifting the ban would increase demand and lead to a surge in poaching," said Ms Banks.

"It would be far too easy to launder their skins, bones and parts among those from legalised tiger farms. This would effectively declare an open season on wild tigers."

To add flames to the fire, this schol district recently "re-assigned" NOT Fired a Teacher, Wendy Portillo, for holding a Classroom vote on the removal of one of her students. Yes, you read right, she hel a vote in which other kindegarten students told this five year old boy all the things they hated about him. This insult session was then followed with a vote in which the class decided they no longer wanted Alex Barton in their Classroom.

Now tell me, is this not Fucked up.

Morningside Elementary kindergarten teacher Wendy Portillo has been reassigned until further action may be determined, according to St. Lucie County School district spokesman Janice Karst.

Karst said in a statement this morning Portillo had been reassigned out of the classroom at the district offices.

Last week, Portillo held a vote in her classroom in which kindergarten students "voted out" 5-year-old Alex Barton, who is in the process of being tested for Asperger's Disorder, a type of high-functioning autism. Alex's mother, Melissa Barton, said the vote was taken after classmates were allowed to tell Alex what they didn't like about him .

Further to that, Mr Rockstar was witnessed haggling with the tow truck driver over the cost involved to tow his Lamborghini to his home instead of the impound lot. For those who don't know the area, Chad's House is about an hour away from where he was pulled over, and $200 was apparently too much for the Millionaire Nickelback rockstar.

In the courtroom, Chad Kroeger did not speak, instead his mouthpiece of a lawyer voiced how unfair he thought the sentence was. Oh poor Mr. Chad Kroeger has to hire someone to drive him around for a year. Of course he can't take a bus into Vancouver from his home in Abbotsford. Since reading this article on Bill Maher and his hate mongering of the Pope I’ve been doing some thinking.

First of all, I should make clear; I really don’t give a shit about the Catholic Church or anything it stands for. Ya ok there is the kindness to mankind thing but when you look at the History of the Catholic Church and religion as a whole, there is definitely a lacking for kindness to mankind.

My problems lie in the whole Anti Germanic statements of Bill Maher. I must preface this by also stating I am by no means Anti Jewish, I believe all people regardless of religious belief should be treated fairly. That being said….

Bill Maher is obviously Jewish. I am getting sick and fucking tired of People, regardless of their religion, backstabbing nationalities or religions as insuperior. As a kid growing up, I remember hating History class for the times it brought up the War and the whole Nazi thing. Every time it came up, there would inevitably be this mindless twit in the back of the class piping in their 2 cents worth of commentary on my nationality… Yes, I am German and I am fucking proud of it. I have no relation to Hitler (He was Austrian.)

I have heard enough stories of the war and what the common German Person went through during the Hitler era. The Popes comments on being required to attend the “Hitler Youth” and being drafted really brought it home for me. My father, uncles etc, were also required to attend the Hitler Youth. One of My uncles was drafted against his will and this resulted in shrapnel in his brain which inevitably caused his death. My Father, at the age of 13, had to lie and say he was 12 just to avoid being drafted to fight in the war. Yes, that was 13.

There are stories of Soldiers holding a gun to the head of children, German Villages filled with ONLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN being destroyed by Allied bombings. Yes, the things Hitler did were awful. No humans should be treated this way, fact of the matter is, plenty of races had and have bad things happen to them every day, but yet they are forgotten about.... Not the Holocaust though, almost every day there is news of bigots being arrested for hate speach and yet again we are reminded we must watch our words when mentioning a certain religion (Not applicable to Bill Maher though.) FOR FUCKS SAKES, not all Germans were in league with Hitler, saying so is nothing but HATE MONGERING.

Now let’s move on to Modern day. The Israeli government is stockpiling Nuclear Weapons; they are taking away the human rights and dignities of the Palestinian people. Despite international orders, the Israeli government refuses to recognize the Palestinian people and their right to a homeland.

A little History on this one. From what I understand. After the war, there were a whole wack of Jewish people without a home (After all, they were nomadic.) No country wanted them as (From what I read) these countries were already overrun and were afraid they would take over their government. So, they were given British Palestine. What does this mean? Well, the Palestinian people who lived there were kicked out. Yes, forcibly removed from their home and told their country was no w Israel.

In addition, it is common knowledge that the Jewish religion (Like several others) feel those who do not follow their way are philistines. They are not the “Chosen ones” they are in superior etc etc. This sounds a whole hell of a lot like the Shit Hitler was pandering regarding the whole Arian race bullshit. Come on people, we are all humans and all equal. Get over your fucking selves and the world will be a better place.

Of course, not all Jewish people feel this way, saying so would be wrong. It is just sad that prejudice is still ruling the world, especially in the mind of one Bill Maher.

OK, I will be the first one to admit I really haven't been paying all too much attention to this whole issue. Personally, I believe abit of ethnic diversity is great and find the music and dances of the south asian culture quite entertaining.

Today I scanned through an article in the local paper which kind of brought all the contraversy together for me. From whay I understand, there is either one float or a number of floats which prominently display pictures of murderers which a certain group within the culture idolize. Some of them dead, while others are unfortunately still alive and free.

It seems the parade organizers are refusing to bow to political demands for the removal of these images. While I can understand and appreciate the refusal to let their celibration be controlled by outside political influences, these people need to realise the message they are sending out to the youth within their community. All of a sudden, murder is OK... In fact it is better than OK. If you kill someone you even get your picture posted on a float for millions to ooogle over.

Come on people, get a fucking brain and quit making your religion look bad.

So why is it then when I put a cardboard box full of broken down cardboard boxes, the asshole from Remple Disposal in Delta BC decides to dump the box into his truck and then throw the original box which was holding the other boxes back on my fucking lawn? It isn't like this box of cardboard would have taken up any less space in his truck if it was broken down... After all, it was just surrounding other boxes. This is not the first time these monkeys' have done something similar. Another bitch I have with regard to Remple Disposal of Delta BC is how they seem to throw recycle bins and or garbage cans into the middle of the road where they get run over (Creates more needless waste).

After sealing off the retreat of the polygamist sect led by Warren Jeffs yesterday, the Child Protective Services (CPS) inspectors have removed 52 girls from the 1,900-acre ranch about 260km (160 miles) north-west of the Texan town of San Antonio.

Eighteen of the girls removed from the 400-member ranch community are aged between 6 months and 17 and were put in a state of custody because it appeared they "had been abused or were at immediate risk of future abuse." The rest of the young girls are being found foster homes.

Authorities said none of the 52 girls would be returning to the retreat build about four years ago by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS). About half of them were interviewed by welfare officials after being removed from the YFZ Ranch, as the members of the polygamist community called it.

"We're dealing with children that aren't accustomed to the outside world, so we're trying to be very sensitive to their needs," said Marleigh Meisner, spokeswoman for Texas Child Protective Services.

The investigation into the safety of the children living at the ranch was initiated after Child Protective Services were notified by someone that a 16-year-old girl had suffered physical abuse.

Investigators were searching for a 16-year-old girl who allegedly gave birth to a child after marrying to a 50-year-old man, The San Antonio Times said. The girl hasn’t been found yet and authorities are currently searching for her 50-year-old husband Dale Barlow.

Authorities said the ranch's residents were very cooperative and assisted the investigators in their search. No one was arrested.

The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) bought approximately 1,900 acres near Eldorado about four years ago. There they build the ranch and called it the YFZ Ranch. About 400 members of the church were relocated from their Arizona and Utah compounds to the YFZ Ranch.

Since 2002, when his father died, the community has been led by Warren Jeffs. It’s one of the several religious groups which spread from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after the Mormon Church renounced polygamy in 1890.

Jeffs, the 52-year-old leader and "prophet" of the 10,000-member church, was later convicted for involvement in the rape of a 14-year-old girl in 2001, the year when she wed her cousin in an arranged marriage. In Utah, he was sentenced for to two consecutive sentences of five years to life in prison.

In Arizona, Jeffs also faces charges as an accomplice of incest and sexual conduct with a minor stemming from two arranged marriages similar to that above mentioned. He is now behind bars the Mohave County Jail in Kingman, Ariz., awaiting trial.

Deaths at Petco spark my rage

While looking over the hot searches I ran across the topic of "Deaths at Petco" and it caught my attention. Being an animal lover with 6 PET Chinchilla's who are treated pretty much like royalty with 3 4 foot high interconnected cages and plenty of jumping room I found this article very disturbing. Although there was very little detailed information on how it happened I can only assume Hurley was in a healthy state prior to being brought in for grooming. I did a bit of a google search for "Deaths at Petco" and came up with a few tidbits buried among some dead links. One which was particularly disturbing was a letter from a Petco Employee to Petco Head office outlining various atrocities and animal mistreatment issues at her local Petco. I live in Vancouver Canada and there isn't a Petco here, but we do have several Petsmarts as well as Petcetera. Neither of which I would ever support by purchasing animals there. I have seen Chinchilla's placed in small aquariums with bright lights above them and no shelter right by noisy birds. The problem being, chinchilla's are nocturnal and are very freaked out by loud noises.

My suggestion is, if you are looking at purchasing a pet, please check out the SPCA or your local animal rescue first. There are plenty of animals waiting for good homes. Supporting these pet stores by purchasing animals there only proliferates the cruelty. You may think you are saving an animal from a pet store, but the petstores will only bring in more replacements. If the animal becomes popular this will only lead to over crowding.

Hello! My name is Hurley and on Saturday, March 22nd, 2008 I was taken into Petco to be groomed. Eight hours later I was dead. My human parents rushed me to an emergency vet hospital where I was drowning from the fluid that was filling my lungs and I was coughing up blood. Two vets consulted with my parents as they did everything they could to save my life. It was determined that they needed to end my suffering and so my parents made the agonizing decision to have me euthanized. Petco wants to pay for my vet bills, but they don't want to show my parents the video of me being groomed. Petco also doesn't feel that they should give my parents a reason as to what happened to me while I was in their care. If you think that this is a rare incident, please Google "animal deaths at Petco" and see the long history that Petco has of animal abuse and neglect. Don't let me die in vain. Please don't support Petco by shopping there.

Just one more reason to hate the scum at Walmart

I just read a story about Debbie Shank, a woman from Missouri who was involved in a horible car crash where she ended up Brain Damaged. Being an employee of Walmart, Debbie Shank was entitled to medical benifits through her group plan. The plan covered her medical expenses. Debbie Shank then received a 900,000 settlement for the accident. All fine and dandy right? Well, unfortunately the Walmart plan stipulated all payouts must be reimbursed if the insuree receives a settlement. Here's the math

Settlement $ 900,000
Legal Fee's $ 417,000
Remaining in Trust $ 430,000

Since Walmart paid $ 470,000 in medical expenses, they wanted all of it back. The court ruled they could not take more than what was in the trust, so they took every penny Debbie Shank had, leaving her with Permanent Brain damage and no money to compensate for pain and suffering etc.

I understand insurance policies have exclusions for a reason, but this is a little but more than cruel and heartless. I guess what it comes down to is Debbie Shank should have received more money from the trucking company. Had she been made aware of the fine print by Walmart, I'm sure her lawyer could have included the Walmart payback in the settlement.

In my opinion, the money Debbie Shank received was for pain and suffering, not medical expenses. Obviously the lawyer for Debbie Shank did not include medical expenses in the lawsuit as they were believed to be covered. I guess they weren't. Walmart should really be going after the trucking company originally deemed responsible for the crash.

Debbie Shank breaks down in tears every time she's told that her 18-year-old son, Jeremy, was killed in Iraq.

The 52-year-old mother of three attended her son's funeral, but she continues to ask how he's doing. When her family reminds her that he's dead, she weeps as if hearing the news for the first time.

Shank suffered severe brain damage after a traffic accident nearly eight years ago that robbed her of much of her short-term memory and left her in a wheelchair and living in a nursing home.

It was the beginning of a series of battles -- both personal and legal -- that loomed for Shank and her family. One of their biggest was with Wal-Mart's health plan.

Eight years ago, Shank was stocking shelves for the retail giant and signed up for Wal-Mart's health and benefits plan.

Two years after the accident, Shank and her husband, Jim, were awarded about $1 million in a lawsuit against the trucking company involved in the crash. After legal fees were paid, $417,000 was placed in a trust to pay for Debbie Shank's long-term care.

Wal-Mart had paid out about $470,000 for Shank's medical expenses and later sued for the same amount. However, the court ruled it can only recoup what is left in the family's trust.

The Shanks didn't notice in the fine print of Wal-Mart's health plan policy that the company has the right to recoup medical expenses if an employee collects damages in a lawsuit.

The family's attorney, Maurice Graham, said he informed Wal-Mart about the settlement and believed the Shanks would be allowed to keep the money. Watch this couple's story »

"We assumed after three years, they [Wal-Mart] had made a decision to let Debbie Shank use this money for what it was intended to," Graham said.

The Shanks lost their suit to Wal-Mart. Last summer, the couple appealed the ruling -- but also lost it. One week later, their son was killed in Iraq.

"They are quite within their rights. But I just wonder if they need it that bad," Jim Shank said.

In 2007, the retail giant reported net sales in the third quarter of $90 billion.

Legal or not, CNN asked Wal-Mart why the company pursued the money.

Wal-Mart spokesman John Simley, who called Debbie Shank's case "unbelievably sad," replied in a statement: "Wal-Mart's plan is bound by very specific rules. ... We wish it could be more flexible in Mrs. Shank's case since her circumstances are clearly extraordinary, but this is done out of fairness to all associates who contribute to, and benefit from, the plan."

Jim Shank said he believes Wal-Mart should make an exception.

"My idea of a win-win is -- you keep the paperwork that says you won and let us keep the money so I can take care of my wife," he said.

The family's situation is so dire that last year Jim Shank divorced Debbie, so she could receive more money from Medicaid.

Jim Shank, 54, is recovering from prostate cancer, works two jobs and struggles to pay the bills. He's afraid he won't be able to send their youngest son to college and pay for his and Debbie's care.

"Who needs the money more? A disabled lady in a wheelchair with no future, whatsoever, or does Wal-Mart need $90 billion, plus $200,000?" he asked.

The family's attorney agrees.

"The recovery that Debbie Shank made was recovery for future lost earnings, for her pain and suffering," Graham said.

"She'll never be able to work again. Never have a relationship with her husband or children again. The damage she recovered was for much more than just medical expenses."

Graham said he believes Wal-Mart should be entitled to only about $100,000. Right now, about $277,000 remains in the trust -- far short of the $470,000 Wal-Mart wants back.

Refusing to give up the fight, the Shanks appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. But just last week, the high court said it would not hear the case.

Graham said the Shanks have exhausted all their resources and there's nothing more they can do but go on with their lives.

Jim Shank said he's disappointed with the Supreme Court's decision not to hear the case -- not for the sake of his family -- but for those who might face similar circumstances.

For now, he said the family will figure out a way to get by and "do the best we can for Debbie."

"Luckily, she's oblivious to everything," he said. "We don't tell her
what's going on because it will just upset her."

This is a hot topic in the news today. My question is, what kind of sick fuck would do such a thing. First of all, run someone off the road, then return to kill them? Society is going to hell in a fucking hand basket and I really don't know what to say about this topic.

Very few things make me speechless, this is definitely one of them. I hope they catch the bastard responsible. Too bad there is no death sentence in Canada, because someone like this needs to be removed from society and the tax payers should not have to pay for his food, housing and cable TV. The victim of an apparent deadly road-rage was a church-going man who was on his way to Hawaii for a vacation.

Silas O'Brien of Abbotsford was by his pastor as the man who was hit by a white Ford F250. He and two other men in a Chevrolet Silverado were driving along a stretch of rural road in Langley, east of Vancouver, when police believed they may have tried to pass the vehicle.

"What happened between these two vehicles is currently under investigation," said Langley RCMP Cpl. Brenda Marshall.

"However, the Silverado was forced into the ditch on 16th Avenue and white F250 proceeded to continue on its way westbound on 16th Avenue."

The three men got out of the Silverado and spoke briefly with the driver of a silver Honda who stopped to see if they were OK. Marshall said the Honda driver left and that's when the suspect pickup returned.

"These males were still standing on the side of the roadway and the truck came directly toward them," she said.

"Two of the males managed to get out of the way of the pickup truck. However, the truck did hit the third male and he sustained a fatal injury at the collision."

"We are currently looking for that vehicle. We suspect it has front end damage as well as damage to the driver's side."

The truck was modified with a flat deck to carry a snowmobile but Marshall said that distinctive feature won't necessarily make it easier to trace.

RCMP hope the driver of the Honda who spoke with the victims just before the Ford returned may have some important clues about the accident.

So far, that driver has not come forward.

"I am sure that if that driver was listening to the news or happened to hear about this incident then they would be aware that they were the person that we would be looking for."

Marshall said the two men who managed to jump out of the way of the truck are traumatized by the incident because they are long-time friends of the victim and were driving to the airport for a trip together.

"They are receiving counselling and assistance from our victim's assistance team right now. It's obviously something that will impact them for the rest of their lives."

The pastor of the church O'Brien regularly attended said the 21-year-old started going to church from a very young age.

Pastor Ed Byskal described him as the finest person you'd ever want to meet.

"So naturally it affects them (the congregation) very, very deeply," he said.

Byskal said O'Brien was a hard working, young man dedicated to his community.

Silas attended church the night before the accident and then said goodbye to his family later in the evening. He was reportedly on his way to a Seattle airport before he and his two friends headed to a Hawaiian vacation.

The dog, which looks about eight weeks old, is motionless.

This in itself is enough to get me to want to move there, or at least visit for the sightseeing. I was just checking my Email this morning and I stumbled across this article which just pissed me off. Apparently some wack job in New York stranged his 14 year old daughter to death because she sent a text message to a boy. As if that wasn't disturbing enough Check out the last part of the article.

The father is separated from the girl's mother but had visitation rights.

The girl lived in Pennsylvania with her mother and was visiting him in New York for the weekend. Police say the father has a history of emotional problems and was institutionalized after trying to set a car on fire with his children inside.

OK, so the court system seems to be getting blasted over equal parental rights etc. What the Fuck idiot judge (I used lower case for a reason) saw it appropriate to give some asshole who wanted to set a car on fire with his children in it unsupervised visitation rights? I really wish it was possible to sue the court system, because the wife really should. I wonder if the asshole will still have visitation rights with the other kid(s).

With the recent ongoing in US Schools, many government officials and citizens alike are debating the value of the second amendment. Really now, is there really any modern relevance to something which was created to give the common free person the ability to stand up to an unjust rule or outside attack?

With the advancement in technology, does possessing a firearm really do anything for self preservation? After all, a foreign force need only press a button or release a computer virus to dramatically effect the security and financial well being of an individual, state or country. Now how is carrying a fucking handgun going to help against that situation.

Back in the 1700's when the second amendment was spawned, security concerns were much simpler in nature. A person comes onto your property to steal a horse, you shoot them. The south comes up to take over the north you shoot them. All these things currently the domain of the Police and Military. The need for a free man to protects ones' nation has pretty much been relegated to the middle east and other countries where civil unrest is rampant.

I'm pretty sure the creators of the second amendment had more honorable uses of the firearm in mind (As if shooting anyone could really be deemed as honourable.) Fact of the matter is, firearms have also changed since the signing of the second amendment. The single shot powder musket have been replaced by machine guns capable of killing entire families and classrooms with the simple press of a trigger.

Further to that, consider the effect modern video games have on the mind of a child. Filled with constant glorification of murder and desensifycation to violence modern video games are teaching our children that violence is cool and the spilling of blood is the ultimate goal in life.

All that in mind, is the recent increase in violent shootings in the US all that surprising? Yes, gang members and criminals shoot each other all the time... we are almost used to that. However, these shooting were different, the targets were random and the shooters insane.

Some argue, with the right to bear arms taken away, only criminals would have guns. Well, if that was the case, would the insane gunmen in these situations have been able to obtain weapons without the second amendment on their side?... Probably not. Sure the criminals would still have guns, gangsters would get wacked and a few unfortunate innocents would get caught in the crossfire, but would the right to possess a weapon really help the common innocent free person in a gangland shooting?

I read something in the local newspaper yesterday which really shows a lack of forthought on the part of some schmucks out there.

Yes, I will be the first to admit there is a problem with idiots on the road driving far too fast for the conditions and their skill level. Even if they do have the skill to handle driving as fast as they do, doing so on the public roads is a recipe for disaster.

Ok, now that we have that aside, there are a few yokals out there who seem to think the cure for this problem is to restrict the speed of a vehicle based on the GPS position of the vehicle. Aside from the obvious fact this method has no way to account for changing weather conditions, road construction or traffic congestion. What about the situations where someone needs to get the fuck out of the way of someone speeding towards them and the only way to avoid the accident is to step on the gas and blast out of the way? Ya ok, the poor fuck has one of these speed retarder devices installed and is blocked from speeding up to avoid an accident.

Come on people, a little bit of forthought would be nice. Remember it isn't speed that kills it is the dumb fucks behind the wheel. I'm not pretending to know the answers, just bitching about the answers of others.

For Christmas, I took a drive up the Coquihalla which was a hair raising experience to say the least. What really caught my attention were these assholes who seemed to think crawling up my ass on the iciest part was acceptable human behaviour. Come on people, you can't stop on a dime in this shit and your are about ready to give me a fucking Range Rover enema. As if this isn't bad enough, there is this spacial breed of dumb fuck who drive 4x4 pick-up trucks. What part in you have no weight in the back part of your truck do they not understand?

So why am I bitching about this now, on January 27th, pretty much a month after the incident? Well, I guess because I have to drive to a job site tomorrow and know what kind of crap I will be in for.

Of course, I get the last laugh when I see them in the ditch 5 miles ahead.

OK, just the other day some low life dirt sucking criminal thieving gang banger was wacked by one of his own outside an upscale Downtown Vancouver Restaurant. Yes it is sad when a human life is lost regardless of how worthless the life actually is. Fact of the matter is, this guy was just released from Jail and sad to say, the city is probably a little better off with less of his kind kicking around.

The problem arises when the innocent get caught in the crossfire of criminal activity. Furthermore, regardless of who gets wacked, murder is a crime and by definition performed by criminals.

So what am I getting at with the above more than obvious statements? Well, this post really has not that much to do with the actual criminals as what we as society are or are not doing to help prevent crime.

Crime of all sorts is happening on our streets on a daily basis... if not every minute. Sure we could increase the already over taxed police force, but what would that do except put more rookie cops with stun guns out on the streets looking for non english speaking people to zap. Many in the law enforcement industry have suggested surveillance camera's in public places, sounds like a good idea to me. With camera's out in the field, there would be less need for beat cops just wandering around aimlessly looking for trouble to happen. The wondering could be done electronically saving a massive amount of tax dollars on man hours.

So what is the problem? I'll tell you what, these whiney left wing crackpot dirtbags in the civil liberties groups. Ya ok, I can see a little bit of their concern with not wanting to become a police state similar to that in George Orwell's book 1984. The thing is, these camera's are not being put in a TV in your home. They are in Public places. As a public place, there is no expectation of privacy, so what you do is always subject to being seen by someone else in the public space. This way, if some dirtbag scum 1 goes and wacks dirtbag scum 2, the police can then go and arrest dirtbag scum 1. Perfect less scum on the street.

In a more practical situation, say your grandmother is walking down the street and some scuzbag thumps her upside the head and steals her purse. Perhaps this is the scuzbags' full time profession and your Grandmother was the 6th woman he knocked down that day. Maybe this time, she bumped her head and died. Now imagine what the situation would look like if there were camera's in public places. The shithead would probably have been nabbed at the beginning of his career, thus saving your grandmothers life. Makes sense to me, sad thing is, the privacy communists don't give a fuck about your grandmothers' life because they just want to be able to pick their noses in public without being seen by a police officer monitoring a series of camera's. VANCOUVER (CBC) - Energy efficient light bulbs could be causing migraines, a British migraine lobby group said Wednesday.

"These bulbs do trigger migraines for some of our members - it's either the
flickering, or the low intensity of the light, causing eye strain," Karen Manning, a spokeswoman for the British Migraine Action Association, told the BBC.

Many jurisdictions around the world have recently moved toward banning standard incandescent bulbs, which lose most of their energy as heat, in favour of compact fluorescent lights.

Last September, Britain's environment secretary announced a voluntary agreement that would see stores stop selling all conventional bulbs by the end of 2011.

"We would ask the [UK] government to avoid banning them completely, and still leave some opportunity for conventional bulbs to be purchased," Manning said.

Australia announced last February that it was going to prohibit the use of incandescent bulbs by 2010 in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In Canada, the federal government said last April that it would ban the sale of inefficient light bulbs by 2012.

Implementing the ban in Canada would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than six million tonnes a year and save homeowners about $60 annually in electricity costs, Natural Resources Minister Gary Lunn said at the time

DELTA/CKNW(AM980) - The MP for Delta-Richmond East is sounding the alarm over the way the Federal Government is handling the Tsawwassen Treaty.
John Cummins says residents aren't getting the full story on the issue of taxation once the treaty is implemented, "The Federal Government is saying very clearly that the income tax will apply to the Indian Band, that members of the Indian Band will be paying income tax the same as other Canadians and that's simply not the case."

He says while Band members will no longer be exempted from paying taxes, the taxes they do pay will go the Tsawwassen Government rather than the Federal Government and be used for the Bands own needs.

Cummins says the Federal Government also hasn't clearly explained how non-native residents will be taxed, "Non-Native residents of the Reserve, who far out number the residents of the reserve, their income tax will also be going and be paid to the Band and that's a considerable amount of money."

Ccmmins says he's afraid that if the public isn't fully educated about the issues contained in the Treaty, it will lead to bitterness and mistrust rather than reconciliation.

Now who comes up with this shit? I was flipping through the local paper trying to find something interesting. Among the typical crap like a front page story on the Mayor, some dog who had babies and a tiny article on Piggy Pickton I find this little tidbit on how Surrey is looking for a new Logo. Yes apparently the condom and handgun has lost its' market appeal. hmmm maybe a syringe in the arm of a turban wearing dagger wielding.... um what is the politically correct term for people from India anyways???? Oh ya Indo Canadian. Of course we can't forget to include road racing and gang bangers in the mix.

Considering a new wing of the Surrey General Hospital was recently named after some Sikh figure head of some sort and the 2010 Mascots look more like something from Asian saturday morning TV, It doesn't seem so far fetched. There is something about this time of year which brings a nice warm feeling in the stomach, on the other side of the coin there is also this sickening feeling caused when the truly tasteless decide to get involved in their own white trash way.

I'm talking about that subclass in society who feel blow up shit from Walmart counts as festive decorations when splattered across their lawn in some meaningless design. I'm not saying I have a problem with Christmas decorations as a whole, in fact there are quite a number of beautiful displays. The problem arises when societal trash get into the game.

Living in North Delta, I have a number of neighbours who have exactly that problem. It seems to get worse with every passing year as the chinese market expands into blow up christmas lawn shit. It is almost like they take some sort of perverse pride in junking up the neighbourhood with their collection of mis-matched polypropaline christmas crap. Now instead of placing their newly found ornaments with some level of pride and forthought, they just plop it on some random empty spot of dead weed infested lawn.

I think I will drive around taking some pictures to post on here. perhaps the owners of these autrocities will get a shot of realization as they see the shit they subject the neighbourhood to from different eyes. Doubt it though.
