UK Crackdown on P2P File Sharing

OK, so we are all too familiar with the Pirates of the Indian Ocean and their increasing attacks on container ships and now personal yachts. The British government, in particular Business Secretary Peter Mandelson, is seeking to shut down Internet Piracy in the form of illegal downloads.

Peter Mandelson recently announced his plan to crack down on people who persistently download illegal content, stating they will be cut off from the net if they continue downloading content.

This recent addition to government policy followed months of speculation on the topic of a crack down on peer-to-peer downloading in the UK. The new regulation means persistent peer-to-peer P2P users will be sent two warning letters before facing disconnection from their ISP.

This new regulation is being challenged by ISP providers in the UK on the grounds that it is impractical. A reprasentative from ISP TalkTalk, an ISP firm in the UK said "What is being proposed is wrong in principle and won't work in practice," They further went on to say the UK Anti-piracy law is "ill-conceived" and they are prepared to challenge the Peer-to-peer downloading crackdown against online filesharing in the courts stating "In the event we are instructed to impose extra judicial technical measures we will challenge the instruction in the courts."


Peter Mendelson, however, said actual disconnections are going to be a "Last Resort. In his announcement Peter Mendelson said "I have no expectation of mass suspensions. People will receive two notifications and if it reaches the point they will have the opportunity to appeal,"
UK ISP's have argued it is not their job to police the Internet. Further going on to state they should not be responsible for the cost involved in policing the downloading practices of their customers. In response, Peter Mandelson said the costs of enforcing his anti-piracy crackdown on Peer-to-peer P2P file sharing would be "shared between ISPs and content providers".

The Internet Service Providers' Association feels the copywrite holders should cover all costs involved in enforcing the proposed UK Anti-piracy crackdown on P2P file sharing, this would also include reimbursement of ISPs for lost revenue and expenses.

The ISPA further went on to state "The unintended consequence of Lord Mandelson's plan will be to encourage more wi-fi and PC hi-jacking and expose more innocent people to being penalised."

Peter Mandelson further went on to say this proposed UK Anti-piracy crackdown on P2P file sharing would also result in a more relaxed copyright regime. Although the details of his plan would need to be hammered out at European level, it would take account of the use of copyright material "at home and between friends", he said. For example, someone who has bought a CD would be able to copy it to their iPod or share it with family members without acting unlawfully.

In a post on their blog, The Pirate Bay, an online P2P Filesharing source and frequent defender of Filesharing rights said:

We have, ourselves, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once more able to defend our Internets, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone.

Even though large parts of Internets and many old and famous trackers have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Ifpi and all the odious apparatus of MPAA rule, we shall not flag or fail. In France the government has just approved a so-called three strikes policy.

Under the French Anti-piracy crackdown on P2P file sharing, those identified as illegally downloading content would initially be sent warning letters and, if they failed to comply, could be removed from the network for up to a year.

So with all the hunger the growing jobless conditions in what is being called "The worse recession since the 1930's" what is the US Government, specifically NASA, doing BOMBING THE MOON? Is this part of Obama's Stimulus package where he spends exorbitant amounts of money on silly programs which really don't help put food in the mouths of the hungry or provide work for the unemployed who are unable to pay their morgtages?

So why is NASA BOMBING THE MOON, you may ask... Well, apparently they are looking for water. Although the Moon mostly a dry airless desert, NASA Scientists believe ice could be trapped in crater shadows near the south pole which never receive any sunlight. By BOMBING THE MOON, NASA hopes to release the water from its' icy hold. So I guess you could say this is an Ice Liberation mission. Thank God for NASA, otherwise the water on the moon would never feel the beauty of freedom.

Alternatively, by BOMBING THE MOON and creating a 5 Mile lake on the moon, NASA may very well be creating a vacation / getaway spot for all those Bank executives helped out with the Obama Financial Bailout of the banks. After all, Barbados is so passe

I know Canadians are typically fence sitters who tend to go along with the trend as long as there is beer involved but going along with this proposed move of Parliament would be just stupid.

The Bloc Quebecois brought forth a motion on Wednesday calling on the CANADIAN government to include SEAL PELTS INTO THE OLYMPIC ATHLETES UNIFORMS... Say fvcking what??? I thought the SEAL HUNT was banned.

I remember seeing images of the annual CANADIAN SEAL SLAUGHTER on TV. Hunters would charge around the ice on snowmobiles with clubs and beat the living shit out of these poor helpless baby seals. I know there is a whole overpopulation issue and a negative effect on the fishing industry, the thing is, the fish would be OK if the Fishermen would be over fishing. Furthermore, isn't there a more humane way to kill these poor animals. I'm sure a gun would be more effective and definitely alot quicker and potentially less painful for the seals.

You know, I started out being a supporter of the 2010 Olympics coming to Vancouver. I thought it would be a good thing. Unfortunately, as time goes on I am starting to second guess myself. It started with the stupid Pokemonesque mascots and moved rapidly into the farcical VANOC job bid process. You see, I own an alarm company and registered as a vendor. At first I received a bunch of unrelated opportunities in the UK as well as the rest of the world. After that, I received completely unrelated postings. Then the notifications stopped. VANOC phoned me asking for my email address because Emails bounced back. I gave it to them. a couple of op's came in and once again stopped. They contacted me again... apparently the screwed up the last time. I gave them the same Email address again and guess what... Not a fricken thing. I contacted Vanoc and did not get a reply. Oh well, I'm busy enough without them and taking on their jobs would inevitably have a negative effect on my regular customers.

After that, I contacted VANOC with regard to road closures and driving issues. You see, being in the service industry with customers in the vicinity of the VANOC office as well as across the street from the Olympic Village, I needed some sort of assurance I would be able to service my customers during the Olympics should the need arise. Guess what!!! They sent me back an email giving me the URL to a useless non-descript traffic plan which said "Use transit" Ya, I'm going to pack a fucking ladder on the bus.... Get a grip people.

As if those weren't reasons enough to be embarrassed by the Olympics coming to Vancouver, the Canadian Government actually passed the Bloc motion requesting SEAL FUR BE INCLUDED IN THE OLYMPIC UNIFORMS. Further to that, politicians are getting up and publicly defending their moronic decision to INCLUDE SEAL FUR IN THE CANADIAN OLYMPIC UNIFORMS FOR THE VANCOUVER 2010 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES. The federal government wants Canadian Olympians to wear a seal product — most likely skin — during the 2010 Winter Games to help protest a European Union ban on Canada’s seal hunt.

Members of Parliament from all parties voted unanimously Wednesday in favour of a Bloc Quebecois motion calling on the government to come up with a way to integrate seal pelts into the athletes’ uniforms.

“With the upcoming Winter Olympics that will be in Vancouver in 2010, the government has a chance to offer some concrete action to promote seal products,” Bloc Quebec MP Raynald Blais said. “Today we are tabling a motion aimed at studying the possibility to integrate into the Canadian athletes' uniforms. Is the government ready to act to save an industry?”

Canadian Olympic Committee president Mike Chambers said adding seal products to Olympians’ gear would not only mar athletes’ performance, but politicize the Games.

“I’m used to those in the political arena wishing to attach their issues to the Olympic arena,” he said from Lausanne, Switzerland. “But this is one … that will not and cannot be allowed to occur. It’s our intent for our athletes to remain free of the politics that arises in and around the Olympic Games. The seal issue, while important, is an issue that has become politicized.”

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games would not comment, as athletes’ uniforms are the responsibility of the Canadian Olympic Committee.

Liberal MP Ujjal Dosanjh was among those who supported the motion.

“It’s an industry in the Atlantic and I believe that our caucus is unanimous in supporting it,” he said.

When pressed for details, he added, “I’m not going to say anything more than what I have just said to you.”

Federal Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea said the move would signal Canada’s support of the sealing industry.

“I would imagine that the Olympic clothing is all designed and probably made by now, but I think it’s a good symbolic suggestion to add something to the outfit of our athletes. I think it would be a good statement for the Canadian sealing industry and Canada’s support of it.”

Seal skin has made high-profile appearances in the past — even on the catwalk. Inuit designers such as Elisapee Kilabuk have showcased creations as diverse as motorcycle jackets to bustiers in international shows.

Chambers said he it’s “doubtful” that the MPs wishes would make any gains.

“There are political issues all over the world,” he said. “If the IOC started allowing a patch on everyone’s uniform we’d all look like FI speed racers. Let the politics do the political thing and keep the sport to the games.”

The Business of being a "Minority"

This morning, Google Search trends seemed to be filled with searches for BARACK THE MAGIC NEGRO I guess somebody in the Black Community decided to re-write the Puff The Magic Dragon song. Personally, I thought it was quite funny. Being a honkey, I'm sure there are those who would call me racist for laughing at the humour, even though it was created by a Black person (Am I even allowed to say that.)

I guess what picks my ass more than a little is how a certain segment of society feels it is important to separate themselves out of the "Majority" and call themselves a "Minority." This is not limited to just the African American, the Native Indians have done it, as have the Jewish culture. Shit, some will even say Obama, himself, used his "Minority status" to get elected in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I am by no means being a racist (Sad I even have to say that.) I am simply pointing out the term "Minority" now has a measurable financial benefit. By being a "Minority" individuals have access to programs such as Affirmative Action, extra labour law protection as well as the ability to pull at the heart strings of the always guilty "Majority".

Of course the Honkey's or Heterosexuals are not allowed to distinguish themselves with elitist programs and parades like the "White Person College Fund" or the "Not Gay Pride Parade"... That would be racist and Gay bashing. But of course "Minorities" having similar elitist events and programs is just considered "Supporting the Community" and "Standing up for their Rights."

I'm all for equality under law and society, however it seems the business of "minorities" would rather have it the other way around. Take for example this whole "Obama is not Black" thang. By pointing out he is not "One of them" the African American Community is able to continue the business of being "Down-trodden" after all, without "Minority" status, there would be no special treatment.

So go ahead, call me a Cracker, call me a racist honkey.... If that makes you feel better.

Auto Industry and Union Boneheads

OK, I know I tend to go off on tirates when it comes to Unions and how they are partly responsible for our current economic crisis... Well that and consumer stupidity combined with the never ending greed of the banks.

Today's little news tidbit really got my blood pumping. Apparently the US Democrats, being the lefties they are, have decided keeping Union Wages in the auto plants is more important than actually saving those jobs. SAY WHAT, give your heads a fucking shake people, THERE IS NO MONEY. Sorry to say, the cash cow has run out of milk.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Unions will cause the death of society. Yes, at one point in time they did help. The thing is, the need for unions has diminished. Fact of the matter is, if Unions were not so demanding, many low education jobs would not be farmed out to Asia. Of course there are other factors, however stripping the power of the unions would be one piece of the puzzle.

For those who still don't understand, here is a simple layout on how unions are fucking over the economy:

- Busines owners are in business to make money. They take the risks so therefor they deserve a profit. That and investors and RRSP Funds also need that profit as their income depends on those companies being profitable.

- Union workers come in and say, wait a minute, we want more money because we need to be a couple steps above the cost of living index so we can buy Hummer's and other Big Trucks Ugg Ugg, penis needs power.

- An increase in wages increases the cost of making and delivering products. Companies now need to balance things out so their investors and those holding RRSP's don't get pissed off and dump the stock, or worse the company doesn't go out of business. To get this money back, the company must raise the price of their products and or services. These costs get passed down the chain effecting everyone in various sectors of the economy.

- Whoa, hold on everything costs more, union workers start to bitch, we can't afford gas for our bug trucks, we can't afford Beer, Cigarette's and other essentials. So what happens next??? The Fucking Union goes on strike because, yes once again, they want more Fucking money.

Can you see this trend. Eventually, corporate and investor need for profit results in labour out sourcing, which then creates a trade deficit and money devaluates.

OK, so this might be an over simplification of things, but it is happening and will continue to happen so long as these Dumb ass Union leaders are dragging the world around by the short and curlies.

Increase taxes increase cost to do business
This increases cost of products
Production union guys see themselves needing more money to pay for this
They go on strike this increases cost of products
Teachers and City workers start to bitch
and the death grip continues

Something of extreme social and political relevance

Now for something truly close to my heart... on a good date that is.
Breasts, yes I love breasts and I'm not talking chickens or moobs, I mean female breasts. Oddly enough, western civilization feels the female breast should be covered and hidden from the open enjoyment of others. Now that is just Poppycock, I think the breast should be liberated, let the world see the, so what if it causes a few traffic jams I love breasts. Did I say that I love breasts?

Anyways, back to the breasts ooops I mean topic. A group of concerned breasts oops I mean citizens is fighting for the Right to Bare Breasts. Bill Maher and his Anti Germanic rantings

Since reading this article on Bill Maher and his hate mongering of the Pope I’ve been doing some thinking.

First of all, I should make clear; I really don’t give a shit about the Catholic Church or anything it stands for. Ya ok there is the kindness to mankind thing but when you look at the History of the Catholic Church and religion as a whole, there is definitely a lacking for kindness to mankind.

My problems lie in the whole Anti Germanic statements of Bill Maher. I must preface this by also stating I am by no means Anti Jewish, I believe all people regardless of religious belief should be treated fairly. That being said….

Bill Maher is obviously Jewish. I am getting sick and fucking tired of People, regardless of their religion, backstabbing nationalities or religions as insuperior. As a kid growing up, I remember hating History class for the times it brought up the War and the whole Nazi thing. Every time it came up, there would inevitably be this mindless twit in the back of the class piping in their 2 cents worth of commentary on my nationality… Yes, I am German and I am fucking proud of it. I have no relation to Hitler (He was Austrian.)

I have heard enough stories of the war and what the common German Person went through during the Hitler era. The Popes comments on being required to attend the “Hitler Youth” and being drafted really brought it home for me. My father, uncles etc, were also required to attend the Hitler Youth. One of My uncles was drafted against his will and this resulted in shrapnel in his brain which inevitably caused his death. My Father, at the age of 13, had to lie and say he was 12 just to avoid being drafted to fight in the war. Yes, that was 13.

There are stories of Soldiers holding a gun to the head of children, German Villages filled with ONLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN being destroyed by Allied bombings. Yes, the things Hitler did were awful. No humans should be treated this way, fact of the matter is, plenty of races had and have bad things happen to them every day, but yet they are forgotten about.... Not the Holocaust though, almost every day there is news of bigots being arrested for hate speach and yet again we are reminded we must watch our words when mentioning a certain religion (Not applicable to Bill Maher though.) FOR FUCKS SAKES, not all Germans were in league with Hitler, saying so is nothing but HATE MONGERING.

Now let’s move on to Modern day. The Israeli government is stockpiling Nuclear Weapons; they are taking away the human rights and dignities of the Palestinian people. Despite international orders, the Israeli government refuses to recognize the Palestinian people and their right to a homeland.

A little History on this one. From what I understand. After the war, there were a whole wack of Jewish people without a home (After all, they were nomadic.) No country wanted them as (From what I read) these countries were already overrun and were afraid they would take over their government. So, they were given British Palestine. What does this mean? Well, the Palestinian people who lived there were kicked out. Yes, forcibly removed from their home and told their country was no w Israel.

In addition, it is common knowledge that the Jewish religion (Like several others) feel those who do not follow their way are philistines. They are not the “Chosen ones” they are in superior etc etc. This sounds a whole hell of a lot like the Shit Hitler was pandering regarding the whole Arian race bullshit. Come on people, we are all humans and all equal. Get over your fucking selves and the world will be a better place.

Of course, not all Jewish people feel this way, saying so would be wrong. It is just sad that prejudice is still ruling the world, especially in the mind of one Bill Maher.

Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist of Breast Town Oregon asked to resign

There once was a town of Arlington Oregon with a poopulation of about 500 people. One year they decided to elect the beautiful Carmen Kontur-Gronquist as Mayor. This in itself is enough to get me to want to move there, or at least visit for the sightseeing. Well all was perfect in this little town of 500 until the Mayor decided to post some racy pictures of herself on her MySpace page. See picture below. Now the town of prudes is in an uproar because they wanted to keep the Mayors breasts to themselves.

It's too early in the morning and I really can't think of much else to say. I understand a mayor position comes with some level of respect and maybe the town doesn't want city hall to be viewed as a strip bar. But come on people, there are only 500 of you. Your mayor has gotten your town national news exposure. So what, change your town logo to a pair of breasts and have some fun with it.

Just a further addition, the Fucking picture was taken BEFORE she became mayor and was part of a fitness contest. Give me a break people. Word of advise to Carmen, get the fuck out of that shit hole town.

The second Amendment - Rednecks in the dark ages

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.



With the recent ongoing in US Schools, many government officials and citizens alike are debating the value of the second amendment. Really now, is there really any modern relevance to something which was created to give the common free person the ability to stand up to an unjust rule or outside attack?

With the advancement in technology, does possessing a firearm really do anything for self preservation? After all, a foreign force need only press a button or release a computer virus to dramatically effect the security and financial well being of an individual, state or country. Now how is carrying a fucking handgun going to help against that situation.

Back in the 1700's when the second amendment was spawned, security concerns were much simpler in nature. A person comes onto your property to steal a horse, you shoot them. The south comes up to take over the north you shoot them. All these things currently the domain of the Police and Military. The need for a free man to protects ones' nation has pretty much been relegated to the middle east and other countries where civil unrest is rampant.

I'm pretty sure the creators of the second amendment had more honorable uses of the firearm in mind (As if shooting anyone could really be deemed as honourable.) Fact of the matter is, firearms have also changed since the signing of the second amendment. The single shot powder musket have been replaced by machine guns capable of killing entire families and classrooms with the simple press of a trigger.

Further to that, consider the effect modern video games have on the mind of a child. Filled with constant glorification of murder and desensifycation to violence modern video games are teaching our children that violence is cool and the spilling of blood is the ultimate goal in life.

All that in mind, is the recent increase in violent shootings in the US all that surprising? Yes, gang members and criminals shoot each other all the time... we are almost used to that. However, these shooting were different, the targets were random and the shooters insane.

Some argue, with the right to bear arms taken away, only criminals would have guns. Well, if that was the case, would the insane gunmen in these situations have been able to obtain weapons without the second amendment on their side?... Probably not. Sure the criminals would still have guns, gangsters would get wacked and a few unfortunate innocents would get caught in the crossfire, but would the right to possess a weapon really help the common innocent free person in a gangland shooting?
